Deb Grantham and .Joseph Lai Iey 0 The Board discu�;sed contract draft_ Items included in discussion were as follows; Budget ainoL11111, tasks that could be added to the contract, why the contract should be bid out and hen, and why the master plan and zoning were separate. The hoard agreed that it would be a good idea to understand what kind of credentials the hired consultant had in regards to coning, Letters will be sent out to those consultants whom the board would like to consider_ Looking for a hiring date of April 2001. The Town Board wlII develop a corn inittee to interview prospective �onsulta],GS. 0 The Board discussed specifl c recommendations_ They worked in two particular areas including elt«ter contt.epts and coinmercial development along the major corridors. A question raised was whether neighborhood i�onimercial activities should be, incorporated. Should mixed uses be allowed and encouraged? Points discussed include the, following: • Promote rnIxed use in existing centers. • Conserve and protect natural resources and ground wafer. • Protect agricultural resources and forests, • Protect view shed; maintain a sense oFplaco- Transportation corridor (Routes 366, 13 and perhaps 79) • Utilities Commercial industrial development * AquiFers * Knowing where water is available is key to knowing where certa- types of development can be located. The Board should identity places where the plan deviates from the survey results. Results can be taken as a statement about the kind of town that people want. 0 The Board discussed goal statements about recreation facilities. 0 It was brought to the Boards attention that both the village of Dryden and the village of Freeville are in the midst of completing their master plans.
