HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-23-2009DECEMBER 23, 2009 12:00 P.M. qZ3 1 Fj 1 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING The Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville was held at the Raymond G. Thorpe Municipal Building, 3577 Terrace Road, Cortland, New York, with Supervisor Tupper presiding. Members present: Supervisor, Richard Tupper Councilman, Theodore Testa Councilman, John Proud Town Clerk, Karen Q. Snyder, RMC Absent: Others present were: None Councilman, Ronal L. Rocco Councilman, Gregory Leach Supervisor Tupper called the special meeting to order, which was scheduled for the purpose of discussing the Water Purchase Contract between the Town of Cortlandville and the City of Cortland, which was a result of the Polkville Waterline Extension. Supervisor Tupper explained that the USDA provided the format of the contract. After many discussions, the Town and City agreed upon a rate of $1.70 per 750 gallons of water furnished. The Town estimated that less than 1.8 million gallons of water would be consumed in the Polkville area per quarter. The length of the contract would extend for a term of 38 years from the date of the initial delivery of any water as shown by the first bill submitted by the City to the Town. RESOLUTION #211 AUTHORIZE SUPERVISOR TO SIGN THE WATER PURCHASE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF CORTLANDVILLE AND THE CITY OF CORTLAND Motion by Councilman Proud Seconded by Councilman Testa VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board does hereby authorize and direct the Supervisor to sign the Water Purchase Contract between the Town of Cortlandville and the City of Cortland, for the purpose of purchasing treated water from the City of Cortland for a term of 38 years, at the rate of $1.70 per 750 gallons of water furnished, not to exceed 1,800,000 gallons per quarter from point of delivery specified in such contract. No further comments or discussion were heard. Councilman Testa made a motion, seconded by Councilman Proud, to adjourn the Special Meeting. All voting aye, the motion was carried.
