• We, the undersigned, oppose the granting of a variance by the Tompkins County Health
Board to Bernard Cornelius to construct a house on Tax Parcel No. 345 -1 -8 on Ringwood.
Road for the following reasons.
i
Z. It would have an adverse effect on the population density in the area,
M:, The increased traffic flow could cause problems to drivers, children
waiting for the school bus across the road, pedestrians, etc.
4mi*4 , The proposed house and its sewage and drainage system will either
be too close to the creek, presenting problems to the residents
downstream, especially should there the more floods, or too close to
the property next to it, which would be an infringement,
i
ZZ. It could be unsafe for people to live so close to the creek if there
is a repetition of the flooding that residents on Ringwood Road ex-
perience periodically.

Alwn..TNDUM TO III.
The homes along Kingwood Road have been having problems with quantity
and quantity of drinking water. >ometlmes they have to draw their I
water from the creek. It is important to preserve the quality of the
water. Constructing another louse in qch a small plot, close to the
creek could IDn detrimental.
A vnrinnce should noit be granted if It will have an adverse effect
.on nearby residents; the population density could pose serious prob.
lems.
Some homes in the neighborhood have had their wells go dry. The prop-
Prty owne4r next to the proposed structure would have serious problems
E
tfAhas to drill a well. The only place he could drill one would be
too close to the ;optic system of the proposed house.
ADDENDUM TO IV.
Since 1972 there have been three major floods from the creek on
Ringwood Road' as well as several minor ones. Property damage to
the proposed house could be very serious becauge,of its proXimity
to the creek. Pollution to the creek from the flood damage could
also be very bad.
