TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
AFRIL 13th, 198 7
The regular meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at 8:OOPM
at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Town of Danby, Tompkins County, New York
April 13th, 1987. The pledge of allegiance waSled by Don Burdick.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT WERE: Supervisor: Don Burdick
Councilman: Ric Dietrich
Councilperson: Judy Tagliavento
ABSENT: Roberts and Shay
OTHERS PRESENT: Frank Proto, Pete Coddington, Earl Hicks, Linda Howe, Betsy
Wilkinson Kramer, Robert Day, Richard Marisa, James E. Johnson, Jr., Mary Casterline,
Roy Casterline, Michael Greene, Herb Engman, Donald Graham, Hermoine Jolles.
Minutes of the March 9th meeting were approved. Clmn. Dietrich moved to
accept and Clmn. Tagliavento 2nd the motion.:
COMMUNICATIONS:
Division of Assessment sent memo, Local Advisory Board of Assessors Review of
a meeting 3 to 6PM, Tuesday, May 12th at the Danby Town Hall, need two people
to serveon the Advisory Board, please confirm, two people to serve on grevience
board. Ithaca City School Board ask for use of the Danby Town Hall for the School
Board Elections, Tuesday, May 5th,1987 from it AM until closing sometime after
9PM0 Letter from Judd Leonard regarding his resigination as the Zoning Officer
for the Town of Danby, effective April 1,1987, due to personal reasons. Letter
from Joe Taggert regarding training sessions for all new members of the Board
of Assessment Review,

Bank Road bridge
discussed
for Town of Caroline, Danby to widen
road and move
it West, money
to come from
CHIPS.
Herb Engman reported on EMC, caution the Town Board regarding the State Laws
regarding projects of this nature, be extremely careful, wet areas make the state
look at it: also. Would like to see more rural wells tested, possibility of
Cornell Univ. doing a pilot testing for the area for approximately $30.00 each.
Determine polution from the junk yard.
Jim Johnson reported 9 people signed up for the recycling committee citizen group.
Judy Tagliavento reported that 85 kids attended the Easter Egg Hunt at Danby School
April 11th, 1987. Community Council are in the middle of their budget, discussed
having the water tested at Danby Pond.
Pete Coddington reported rain has done damage on Hornbrook Road and needs repairs,
signs are being shot up, suggestions of letters to the Sheriffs Dept. He asked
about Hovanec project regarding road, told to take no action at this time.
Discussions on Abandon Roads in 1978 on resolutions.
Don Graham talked to Jim Hovanec about housing development, requires road to he
rebuilt 4d Hovanec would bring road up to specs. Susan Beeners property on Bald
Hill Road, barn to apartment and a possibility of a nursery being on 6, acres,
Planning Board will discuss Wednesday, April 15th, 1987.
Roy Casterline reported Water District OK.

OLD BUSINESS:
Use of Danby Town Hall for Landfill Meetings. OK'd use for May 18th, 19870
Human Services new leader Linda Beins, they have approved.;grants.
NEW BUSINESS:
Resolution #14 transfer $421.79 from A1990.4
cable (Miller & Gilbert Road)

APPROVAL OF WARRANTS:
General Fund:
Warrant,,-44 Clmn ;Dietrich, moved ,to approve Generald Fund Warrant In the amount of
$2,388.05. Clmn Taglivento seconded.
Warrant #4 CLMN. Taglivento moved to approve Highway Fund Warrant in the amount of
$7,116.66. Clmn. Dietrich seconded.
Warrant #4CLMN Dietrich moved to approve Water District warrant in the amount of
$581.50. Supervisor Burdick seconded.
Supervisor's Report, Clmn moved to accept Supervisor's Report. Seconded by Clmn ,
Taglivento.
