HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-17-1984Monday, December 17, 1984 4:30 P.M. �11 r n LJ SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Town of Cortlandville, Town Board was held at the Town Hall, 15 Terrace Road, Cortland, New York with Supervisor Nadolski presiding. Members present: Absent: Supervisor Stanley Nadolski Councilman Melvin Pierce Councilman Ray Thorpe Councilman Edwin O'Donnell Town Clerk Pauline Parker Councilman Warren Manning Others present were Attorney Phillip Rumsey and Depity Town Clerk June Bradshaw. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Nadolski at 4:30 P.M.. RESOLUTION # 237 AUTHORIZE PAYMENT OF VOUCHERS Motion by Councilman Pierce Seconded by Councilman O'Donnell VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED BE IT RESOLVED that the vouchers submitted have been audited and shall be paid as follows: audit bill: General Fund Vouchers # 552-597 $ 19,842.97 Highway of # 212-227 22,843.50 Water Fund IF# 171-177 799.73 Sewer Fund # 86-90 927.62 Councilman Thorpe made a mbt.i on, seconnded by Council- flooding man Pierce to receive, and file a letter received from Blodgett Senator Riford stating he has sent -the information of the Mills flooding problem in Blodgett Mills to the Soil and Conservation Service. All voting aye, the motion was carried. A letter was received from Sammons Communication, Inc. advising that the basic service rate has been raised tb rate $ 7.35, with additional outlets at $ 2.00, effective January increase 1, 1985- Councilman O'Donnell made a motion, seconded by Sammons Councilman Pierce to receive and file the letter. All voting aye, the motion was carried. I G: Monday, December 17, 1984 Page 2 Councilman Pierce made a motion, seconded by Council - Federal man Thorpe to receive and file the Sammons Cable Comm - Cable TV unications Policy Act of 1984, adopted by the Federal amendment Government. All voting aye, the motion was carried. Councilman O'Donnell made a motion, seconded by Councilman Pierce to receive and file a letter written by Veterans our Assessor, David Briggs, to the Cortland County Leg - Exemptions islature stating that the Town was opting .out ,of the veterans message to exemption program. All voting aye, the motion was carried. County A memo was receive3from Assessor, David Briggs Gary's advising that Gary Lyon (Gary's Automotive) has purchased Automotive a 12.9 X 125.0 strip of land on Louise Drive. It was purchase formerly owned by Clarence Homer. Councilman O'Donnell land made a motion, seconded by Councilman 'Thorpe to receive and file the memo. All voting aye, the motion was carried. Supervisor Nadolski apprised the Town Board of a feud between Gary's Automotive and a women on Louise Drive concerning this str.ip- of land being used for parking. RESOLUTION # 238 AUTHORIZE TRAILER PERMIT RENEWAL TO DONALD AND ROBERTA FRITTS Motion by Councilman O'Donnell Seconded by Councilman Thorpe VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED Trailer BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Clerk is hereby authorized Permit to issue a trailer.permit renewal to Donald and Roberta Renewal Fritts, upon payment of the proper fee, to park a house Donald Fritts trailer, located in the Town of Cortlandville, at 3688 South Hill Road, McGraw, New York. Councilman Pierce made a motion, seconded by Council - Groton Ave man O'Donnell to receive and file a copy of the memorandum sewer written by Cortland ,County Board of Health Director, James system V. Feuss to Cortland County Attorney, Martin Mack regarding the status of the sewer system at Groton Ave. Shopping Plaza. All voting aye, the motion was carried. Mr. William Porter, of Porter Real Estate, in Syracuse, owns the mall and was supposed to form a corporation for such many years ago. This was never done and since then temporary variances have expired. -lift Monday, December 17, 1984 Page 3 RESOLUTION # 239 GROTON AVE. SHOPPING PLAZA®COLLECTION AGENT -GRAVITY SEWER CHANGE Motion by Councilman Pierce Seconded by Councilman O'Donnell VOTES: ALL AYE ADOPTED WHEREAS the City of Cortland has "billed William Porter for sewer usage at the Groton Ave. Shopping Plaza in the Groton Ave past and timely payments have not been received and the sewer ® City has no recourse for collection, and have requested billing etc the Town to act as the collecting agent, and WHEREAS those involved want the Town to accept the sewer system at that location, now THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Cortlandville will act as the collection agent for the Groton Ave. Shopping Plaza, and also accept the sewer system contingent on installation of a gravity sewer from the pumping station to the Groton Ave. sewer trunk. Councilman O'Donnell made a motion, seconded by EDA Councilman Pierce to receive and file a letter Supervisor progress Nadolski sent to Leon S. Reed, EDA Project Officer, advising report him of the progress of the Water:_System Improvements in the Town of Cortlandville. All voting aye, the motion was carried. Supervisor Nadolski apprised the Town Board that the first meeting in 1985 will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 1985 at 7:30 P.M.. Being no further business, Councilman Pierce made a motion, seconded by Councilman O'Donnell to adjourn the special meeting. All voting aye, the motion was carried.
