Minutes
Present: JoEllen Bailey, Tom Quinn, Stephanie McConnell, Kris Bennett
Since there was no quorum, no official business was conducted. However, those present shared
information and discussed agenda items as described below.
Annual Reports Kris had the annual report printed but forgot to bring them to this meeting.
JoEllen will attend the V. Dryden May trustee meeting, Kris will get her copies in time for the
meeting. We are scheduled at the May 10 Town Board meeting to share the annual report. Kris,
JoEllen and Stephanie will attend and possibly Tom. CCE's Dryden Youth Services will also
present, including info from youth participants. Stephanie will share with Freeville trustees in
May. Kris suggested also sharing with Dryden schools and/or school board /superintendent;
JoEllen knows someone (Andy) on the school board and will check with him about preferred
ways of sharing info with them.
Police & Community Kris contacted Alan to ask for the feedback from Freeville school from
last year but didn't hear back from him. Kris suggests repeating the feedback gathering from this
School since it's now nearly a year old. JoEllen will take care of this. Once we have this info,
the DYC can review it and decide whether to schedule a meeting with Chief Ryan and/or Mayor
"Taylor to discuss.
Joint meeting with Dryden Recreation Commission JoEllen, Stephanie and Kris (and possibly
Tom) will attend the May 2, 6:30 PM meeting; Kris will also send info to those not present. It's
been several years since these 2 groups met and since there has been turnover on both boards,
this will be a chance to share info (incl. our annual report), learn about the other group and our
respective roles in the community and ways to collaborate and share information. We will also
discuss DYC funds for youth employment with the Town.
Liaisons Kris asked Tom and Stephanie to each serve as a liaison to one DYC - funded program.
Toni will work with Brooktondale camp, Stephanie with Police & Community.
Membership Stephanie will include a notice in the next Freeville newsletter going out soon
about the open Freeville seat on the DYC. Kris reminded her that it could be a teen, the
minimum age is 16. The DYC would benefit greatly from having a young person serve.
Stephanie will pursue this idea. JoEllen will contact Alan re. his plans re. the DYC. He hasn't
been at a meeting in many months and has not been in contact. Kris will follow up with Cynthia
who has missed 2 meetings in a row.
Other Kris asked about the community interviews, it's not too late to complete them but her
office would appreciate hearing back as soon as manageable. We agreed to table the
Commission Vitality Tool discussion until next month.
0 Next meeting will be Tuesday May 15, 6:30 PM.
