Moved by Mr. Rankin, seconded by Mr. Carey to schedule public hearing on M.Y.S. Fire Prevention Code for December 28, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall. Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin, VanBenschoten, Carey, Robinson. Moved by AIr. Rankin, seconded by Mr. Sovocool to hold a special Town Board meeting to consider adopting Fire Code and to perform annual accounting of all town records on December 28, 1981 at 7:45 P.M. Carey, Councilman Verl Rankin, Jr., Councilman Ellard L. Sovocool, Councilman Gordon C. VanBenschoten, Councilman Benjamin J. Bucko, Town Attorney Also present: Leland Cornelius Purpose of meeting was to take action on Fire Prevention Code Hearing and to perform annual accounting of all town records. Hearing on State Fire Prevention Code was held immediately prior to this meeting. Since thexe was no objections to code, board acted as follows: RESOLUTION N0. 21 - ADOPT STATE FIRE PREVaTTION CODE Moved by Mr. Carey, seconded by lair. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Groton hereby accepts the applicability of the State Fire Prevention Code for the Town of Groton to become effective in said Town of Groton on the 1st day of January 1982, in accordance with the provisions of Section 393 of the Executive Law, and it is FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be, and hereby is, instructed to file a certified copy of this resolution in the principal office of the State Building Code Council, Division of Housing and Community Renewal, at Two World Trade Center, New York, New York 10047, and in the office of the Secretary of State at Albany, New York, Claim Nos. 356 to 362 of the Highway Fund and #372 to #386 of the General Fund were presented for audit. Mr. VariBenschoten moved that the 'bills be paid and the Clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded. by Mr. Carey. Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson. • There will be a. public hearing on .Power Authority on January 11 at 7:30 P.I01. at the Groton High School, RESOLUTION NO. 22 - BOARD AUTHORIZES SUPERVISOR TO MAKE NECESSARY BUDGET TRANSFERS Moved by Mr. Carey, seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be authorized to make necessary budget transfers. RESOLUTION N0. 2 - AUTHORIZATION TO PAY FOR SIGNS FRO14 COi• TINGE 4CY FUND Moved by Mr. Carey, seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson RESOLVED, that since Federal Revenue Sharing funds allocated for signs have been expended, that remaining bills for 1981 signs be paid out of Contingency Fund, RESOLUTION N0. 24 - AUTHORIZATION TO USE PART TOWN EXCESS 1981 REIMIUES TOWARDS ROGER BECK'S BILL Moved by Mr. Rankin, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Carey, Robinson RESOLVE]), that Part Town Excess 1981 Revenues 'be applied towards Roger Beck's 'bill for McLean Flood repair work. Town Board members performed annual accounting of town records. Moved by Mr. Rankin, seconded by Mr. Sovocool, to adjourn meeting at 8:45 P.M. Colleen D. Pierson Town Clerk 1982 MINUTES OF TOINT4 BOARD MEETING HELD JANUARY 110 1982 AT 7:30 P. M. Those present: Teresa M. Robinson, Supervisor Ellard L. Sovocool, Councilman Francis P. Carey, Councilman Gordon C. VanBenschoten, Councilman Verl Rankin, Jr., Councilman Also present: Leland Cornelius Moved by Mr. Sovocool, seconded. by Mr. Carey, that the minutes of December 14 and 28 be approved as mailed. Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin, VanBenschoten, Carey, Robinson. Stan Shockey has inquired about haviig.a street light in Peruvil.le going up Pleasant Valley Road.. Procedure would be for him to present signed partition to Board. Claim Nos. 1 to 15 of the Highway Fund and #1 to #14 of the General Fund were presented for audit. Mr. Carey moved that the bills be paid and charged against proper year and the clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten. Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin, VanBenschoten, Carey, Robinson. Monthly reports from the Town Clerk and Zoning Officer were reviewed. Zoning Officer issued two building permits. He also noted in his report that Charles Volbrecht has not applied for a Motor Vehicle Repair Shop Permit after having been notified to do so several times. Also, John Anderson has been operating a junkyard without a license for some time. RESOLUTION NO, 1 1.982 ORGANIZATIONAL ITR41S Moved by Mr. Rankin, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, Rankin, VanBenschoten, Carey, Robinson RESOLVED, that the First National Bank of Groton be designated as the depository for all monies coming in the hands of the Supervisor and Torn Clerk of the Town of Groton. 0 •
