TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
May 13, 1985
The regular meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at 8:02 PM
at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Town of Danby, County of Tompkins
New York, May 13, 19850

Communications:
1• Letter from Glenn Grossmann requesting year round maintenance of John
Hill Road.
2. Letter from Federal Emergency Management Agency acknowledging receipt
of town's adopted local law on flood damage prevention.
The program will become effective May 15, 1985
3. Letter from Tompkins County Division of Assessment announcing June 12
as assessment review day for Danby.
4.. Letter from Ithaca Theatre Lighting Company announcing A "May Faire"
at the former Danby School, being put on by the School of the Finger
Lakes.
5. Letter from American Community Cablevision announcing installion of
cable service to residents in West Danby,
Councilperson Mary Oltz moved to approve the minutes of April 8 and Public
Hearing minutes of April 8, seconded by Councilperson Roberts.

Privilege of the floor:
The town clerk would like permission to attend a tax collectors seminar in
Albany, June 17 & 180
Frank Proto gave a report for the County Board of Representatives.
He said there will be no salary increase among the members for two years.
He reported on the Federal Revenue Sharing cuts for 1986 and 1987.
Mr. Proto has been selected to review the SPCA contract with the County.
Marianne Pampuch asked when a school bus turn around will be completed on
Comfort Road Extension,
Herb Engmann questioned if Ithaca Theatre Lighting Company has supplied to
the town board a list of chemicals they use in their business.
Mr. Engman gave his envirnomental management report. He discussed the increase
in traffic on Michigan Hollow Road for area municipalities use of Landstrom
landfill. He also discussed salt contamination and suggested the highway
department consider a proper storage facility for the salt they use.
Don Graham reported for the County Planning and the Town Planning Board.
He said Frank Liguori will be having an informational meeting June 12 regarding
the Rte. 96 plans. Human Services Coalition will be having an orientation
meeting May 17 to discuss who will be seeking funds in Federal Revenue Sharing.

Mr. Graham also recommended the zoning fee schedule and building fees be
unified in the clerk's office.
Pam Clermont reported there will be a foreclosure very soon the the Charles
Bruce property. She recommends letting the banks handle the foreclosure
and do nothing on her part. She did send a letter to their attorney reminding
them of the zoning laws in the town.

Supervisor Miller reported Donald Wright and Stanley Lis will distribute
Memorial Day Flags to area cemeteries.
Supervisor Miller said she received the bill for audit of the town's books
for the year 1984, as well as the bill for appraisal of the highway building
and property and Ric Dobson's property. A resolution is needed to transfer
funds to pay these bills.

Supervisor Miller said a resolution is need to transfer monies to pay an
additional $208.00 due on the retirement bill. This amount is over the
budgeted figure.

Supervisor Miller received a request from Danby Federated Church to allow
the Koin -o -nia Group use of the Town Hall June 21, 7:00 PM.
Councilman Shay moved to approve use of the town hall by the group, seconded

Supervisor Miller would like a special meeting to be held May 16 at 4:15 PM
to discuss the results of the town audit, highway housing and summer recreation
youth jobs. The board members were in agreement.
