Special Meeting 6:00 p.m. September 25, 2019

OTHERS PRESENT:

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
Mayor Myrick led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS:
2.1 Appointment of the Ithaca Chief of Police:
By Alderperson Lewis: Seconded by Alderperson Kerslick
RESOLVED, That Deputy Chief Dennis Nayor be and hereby is appointed to the
position of Chief of Police, effective October 2, 2019 at an annual salary of $117,457.
Carried Unanimously
Mayor Myrick congratulated Police Chief Nayor and thanked the members of the Search
Committee who worked diligently to find the best candidate for the position.
Police Chief Nayor, thanked the Mayor, Common Council, the community, and the
members of the Ithaca Police Department for the privilege of serving the City of Ithaca.
He stated that it is an honor to serve with members of the Ithaca Police Department and
believes that the department can become a national representation of professio nal
policing. He expressed how proud he is to be part of the Ithaca Police Department and
the City of Ithaca team.

On a motion the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
