Discussed Tentative Ag District on the west side of Town. Roger Gleason, Chairman of Town Planning Board wanted to know if ':Gown Board would like to do anything with intersections regarding setback due to foliage, ag crops, etc. The Board indicated no change. Discussed McLean Cortland Road Cable TV Line Extension Contract. Air. ® Bucko indicated it was okay and to present it to residents and Ceracche for their approval and signatures. Discussed CETA Contract for four (4) 'laborers to be hired starting June 18 thru September at a total cost of $7,425.00 to clean cemeteries. Can terminate in 30 days if County doesn't pay. RESOLUTION N0. 23 - 0 TER :01TO CONTRACT WITH CETA Moved by Mr. Walpole, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole, Rankin, Robinson RESOLVED, that the Town of Groton enter into contract with CETA for four (4) laborers at a total cost of $7,425.00 from June 18 thru September. Moved by fir. Walpole to accept minutes of previous meetings as amended. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten. Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole, Vaxi:Nenschoten, Rankin, Robinson ® Claims #155 to #177 of the Highway Department and #141 to #174 of the General Fund were presented for audit. Mr. Rankin moved that the bills be paid. and the Clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by Mr. Walpole. Supervisor Robinson read. correspondence received from Gary Lee & Sam MacNeil on EMS Bio- Telemetry; David Lee of Ceracche notified us that they must keep Groton telephone for McLean service; Gary Lee notified. us that the House of Representatives voted 300 for and 84 against not paying for mining school instruction in 1980; Letter received from Cayuga Bird Club expressing their desire for Towns to save LVRR; received a letter of resignation from William Shaw from the County Youth Board. 0, 1 Mre Walpole moved to accept letter of resignation .from William Shaw, Seaoii <Ied by Mr. Sovocool. RESOLUTICN NO. 27 - HEA.RING DATE FOR PARTIAL TAX EXEMPTION FOR • Moved by Mr. Walpole, secondeef�yl`r�rle Rankin Ayes - Sovocool, Walpole, VanBenschoten, Rankin, Robinson PISOLI.2d), that the Town hold a public hearing on August 6, 1979 at 8:00 P.M. at the Town Hall concerning increasing partial tax exemption for the elderly. Supervisor Robinson will meet with McLean- Cortland Road, residents on July 19 at 7:30 P.M. to sign contract for Cable TV Line Extension. Supervisor Robinson was asked by the County Board of Election Commissioners to speak to the board regarding District #1 - West Groton Polling Place. County Commissioners have had many complaints froi;t voters concerning signs indicating where polling place is loca't'ed, access, condition of facilities, etc. Mr. Rankin indicated. the Church has fixed place up and, there shouldn't POT be any problem, The Town has received. moved that Supervisor Robinson contact a letter indicating complaints, why an Commissioners come in and sit down and dangerous conditions. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten, Rankin, Robinson no written complaints. Mr. Walpole the County Commissioners and request J. who made there and suggest Election talk with Board about any existing Rankin. Sovocool, Councilman Benjamin J. Bucko, Town Attorney Arrived Late: Vert Rankin, Jr., Councilman Absent: Robert F. Walpole, Town Justice Also present: Mary Evelyn Dempsey, Robert Williams, Robert Brown, Nancy McGuerty, Carl Francis, Mr. & Mrs. William O'Conner Resolution #25 was amended to read job title "Recreation Activities Specialist ", and Resolution #26 was amended. to read job title "Manual Services Workers ". Moved by Mr. Sovocool to accept minutes of previous meeting as amended. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten. Ayes - VanBenschoten, Sovocool, Robinson. Claims #178 to #207 of the Highway Department and #175 to #201 of the General Fund were presented for audit. Mr. VanBenschoten moved that the bills be paid and the Clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by Mr. Sovocool. Ayes - VanBenschoten, Sovocool, Robinson. Board voted unanimously to recess the for executive meeting at 7:10 P.i96 Board meeting reconvened at 7:45 now P.M. Supervisor Robinson stated that the executive meeting was a personnel matter and no names would be given out now for County Youth Board Representative, Zoning Report - 8 building permits issued and 5 letters written. James Lockwood is in violation of zoning ordinance with old trailer, junk cars and new trailer is undersize. Sherry O'Brien has not complied since his Special Motor Vehicle Repair Shop License was denied and has-gone by time for court appeals. John Anderson does not have his ,junkyard license and. is in violation. Attorney Bucko was authorized to take J. Anderson to ® court but Atty. Bucko indicated that sheriff did not serve papers in time and therefore will have to process again. Robert Williams was sent a letter by Zoning Officer to clean up junk. Mr. Williams stated he dad. not receive letter but is cleaning up. He also asked. about Harry Strong's old place on Smith Road that was never filled in after a fire. This does not fall under Zoning but Unsafe Buildings Law. James Jenson on Chipmans Corners Road has not obtained, a building permit. Edward Muzzy on Sharpsteen Road has an undersize trailer- -has been taken care of. RESOLUTION NO. 28 - APPROVE CONTRACT FOR CABLE TV LINE EXTENSION TO McLEAN- CORTLAND ROAD RESIDENTS Moved by Mr. VanBenschoten, seconded by Mr. Sovocool Ayes - VanBenschoten, Sovocool, Robinson, Rankin RESOLVED, that the Town Board approve the contract with Ceracche and residents on McLean- Cortland Road for Cable TV Line Extension.
