The Tompkins County Municipal Official's Association ~•rill meet May 23 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sheraton Inn with Frank Liguori speeking on Tompkins County's Traffic Commission, Supervisor Robinson reported there would. be a meeting held on State Energy Code at TC3 for Municipal. Officials on May 16. Robert Brown, Zoning Officer, is going and hopefully someone from the Planning Board. Supervisor Robinson stated we received a letter ind.icating the flown of Groton will loose $ 5700 in Federal Revenue Sharing money. Supervisor Robinson indicated that the request for TV Line Extension by ® residents on Pleasant Valley Road involves 1.7 miles and franchise states 4.0 households per mile for Ceracche to bear total cost. They have 18 homes along 1.7 miles and if all. 18 subscribe their share would be '1621 per each. Bucko, Town Attorney Absent: Verl Rankin, Jr., Councilman Also present: Leland Cornelius, Mary Evelyn Dempsey, Linda Sovocool, PYichelle' Cor'twright, Frank 'Satterly, Frederic Blumberg, Nancy McGuerty Per. Walpole moved to accept minutes 6f previous meeting as mailed. Seconded by Mr.'ISovocool: Ayes - VanBenschoten,' Sovocool, Walpole, Robinson Claims #138 to #154 of the Highway Department and #119 to #140 of the General Fund were presented for audit. Mr. Walpole moved that the bills be paid and. the Clerk instructed to draw warrant for them. Seconded by IsIr. Sovocool. Discussed purchasing cinder spread.er for truck, Mr. Cornelius stated that we were getting approximately $3000.00 from County for last snow storm. This could be used for payment on cinder spreader. Could obtain cinder spreader for $4,049.00 under County bid which is normal••procedure. Mr. Cornelius requested board approval to place order for fall delivery of a 13' cinder spreader box to go on White chassis. ®correction RESOLUTION NO. 20 - APPROVAL TO PLACE ORI)ERS WITH COLDITY FOR 13' July 2 • SALT SPREADER 1. Ap ointed to serve on the Local Advisory Board-of Assessment Review to be held. June 13 from 3 - 7 PM are Teresa Robinson, Robert Walpole & Ellard L. Sovocool. Discussed ice am in Fall Creek. Because problem exists on property that I j s private land in our 'T'ownship, the Board. doesn't feel they can take care of it. Since problem area is bounded on each.side by County roads, the Board. agreed 'to make a written appeal 'to Planning and Public Works Committee of the County Representatives to see if there is anything they can do to alleviate problem. Existing problem seems to have arisen when an individual opened creek to 3 or 4 feet lower causing ice jam 100 - 200 feet down stream: 74 Approval of Gravel Training School has been received. Discussed wordage for Cable TV Line Extension to McLean - Cortland Road residents. Attorney Bucko will meet with Supervisor Robinson tomorrow between 2:30 and 3:00 P.M. to go over contract. Moved by Mr. Sovocool that Leland Cornelius at`L-ena Toi.m' Highway Superintendent's School at Cornell on June 4 we 6. Seconded by Mr. VanBenschoten, Ayes - VanBenschoten, Sovocool, Walpole, Robinson. Supervisor Robinson has received information on N.Y.S. Building Code. She indicated she would present it to Planning Board and Zoning Officer for their viewpoints. Frederic Blumberg is seeking a variance from the Zoning Ordinance'regarding set back. Board members advised that the Appeals Board would be the Board to handle variances. There being no further business, lair. Bucko, Town Attorney Absent: Gordon VanBenschoten, Councilman Also present: Don Cargian Purpose of meeting was to approve plans made by the Town of Groton Youth Service Advisory Committee in regards to alcohol, drugs and sex problems and how to handle them. Don Cargian, Chairman of the above committee, informed the Board what the committee has been doing the past several weeks and what,they propose to doe Mr. Cargian stated they needed someone to coordinate al'l. kids and suggested. hiring Mike • Conners.. as . a Temporary. Youth Board..Lea•der from June 17 thru first week in September at•whioh time he will be returning to, college. Mike will be talking -to kids and finding out their needs* he will be working with :Park Director and coordinating new programs -- basketball, summer wrestling, park mo•iri es, etc. The Committee has contacted CETA & VISTA Organizations for funding of a full time employee to start in August and work with Mike. Mike does not fall into dollar category.for CETA funds. iolry 4lalpole stated that the courtroom will be in use Tuesdays,' Wednesdays, and Thursdays by Probation Dept., drug councelors and alcohol program representatives. Conners will be working in conjunction with Police Dept, & Probation Dept. He will also take a one day -Lour of Truma.nsburg with Youth Coordinator to review their program. It was suggested that passcards be used for local people to attend events to keep outsiders from disrupting activities. Conners was also to be made aware of the shoplifting problem that exists. Conners will be compensated by Town payroll.
