ITHACA, NY 14850 607-272-1713 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1984 CITY HALL, THIRD FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM PRESENT: Gerard Messmer, Bea Brownell , Joseph Laquatra, Jeanne Fudala, Harold Jones, Lew Durland, and Staff Liaison John Clynes THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:40 P.M. BY GERARD MESSMER. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes were approved. Mr. Messmer noted that the item e had volunteered for was to get pricing on aluminum triple track storm windows , which he has done. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Toe Laquatra reported Doug Dylla had made tentative arrangements for them to ap- pear on the WHCU talk show and asked for input. Joe was concerned because plans on rental housing code were not finalized. The proposed study might be done with Cornell work-study students. The Tompkins County Energy Housing Committee has asked that additional inquires be made other than storm window determinations. Joe will pursue the Cornell program. Harold Jones commented that at some point RSVP might be able to help out with volunteers. The County Planning Commission has asked Joe to make a presentation on Energy Commission's activity with rental housing. Gerard Messmer reported on aluminum storm window prices: up to 101 united inches $40.00 101 to 107 48.00 107 to 115 55.00 over 115 1 .16/U.I. (Less 25% + for carload quantity) Lew Dur land submitted figures he worked out on theoretical savings using storm windows indicating 58¢/square foot/year if gas were the fuel and $1 .25/square foot/ .year if electric. At this point John Clynes suggested we seek the Building Department's help in the survey since they are inspecting daily. TARGET APPLICATIONS: John Clynes reported for Bob Snell that the first energy efficient replacement motor had been ordered and that Board of Public Works had recommended relamping of the first level of Green Street Ramp to Common Council . MISER OF THE MONTH(S) : Harold Jones reported that No. 9's was being recognized for reduction in electric consumption during the summer months. Gerard Messmer suggested that he and Chuck Barber take a look at the area bounded by Geneva and Plain streets from State to Cas- cadilla Streets. HYDROPOWER: Bea Brownell questioned the status of hydropower and lack of any word to our mem- bers for some time. (John Clynes requested Helen Mary Jones to include Brownell and Jeanne Fudala on mailings NEXT MEETING: The December meeting was scheduled for one week earlier than normal , so it will be held on Thursday, December 13, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned.
