HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-02-17n U • U • TOWN OF DANBY SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES FEBRUARY 179 1983 A Special meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at 6:05 PM at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Town of Danby, County of Tompkins, and State of New York on February 17, 19830 The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the resignation of highway superintendent, Roy Hornbrook and approval to pay Ed Inman's bill for work on Town Hall. Board Members present: The Town Clerk March 6, 1983. Councilperson Ted Merritt Councilperson Sylvia Hiney Councilperson Mary Oltz Councilperson Dorothy Roberts Supervisor Mildred Miller read the resignation from Roy Hornbrook effective General discussion followed as to filling above position. Council person Mary Oltz suggested announcement of Mr. Hornbrook's resig- nation should be put in the Ithaca Journal so the public is infor- med of the vacancy. Supervisor Mildred Miller mentioned that Roger Hile, 1395 Danby Road has applied for the position. General discussion followed as to whether this position should be advertised to see if other individuals are interested. Councilperson Mary Oltz made the motion to approve the appointment of Roger Hile as highway superintendent effective March 7, 1983. Position to expire December 31, 1983. Motion seconded by Council- person Dorothy Roberts and carried by the affirmative vote of five ayes and no noes. Councilperson Dorothy Roberts made the motion to approve the pay- ment to Ed Inman for x$150.00 for installation of storm windows in supervisor's office and weatherstripping of the front doors. Mo- tion seconded by Councilperson Sylvia Hiney and carried by the affirmative vote of five ayes and no noes. Councilman Ted Merritt made the motion to adjourn 7:00 PM and seconded by Councilperson Sylvia Hiney a vote of five ayes and no noes.
