TOWN OF DANBY PLAI`iNING BOARD
NAY, 199 1882 8 :00 P.M.
Members present: Donald Graham, Walt Sczepanski, Jim Hovanec, Carol
Benjamin.
Guests present: Chuck Bruce, Ames Brown.
Privilege of the Floor: Chuck Bruce presented a letter of intent asking
permission to erect a storage shed and to add automotive repair service
to his P.U.D. He will also add a fence 8 feet high and length as needed
.o provide adequate screening from the road.
Jim Hovanec suggested that the Planning Board and Town Board work
together to make plans for buying and using the school building for
community use.
Ames Brown stated that he would like to apply for his home and prop-
erty to be zoned residential. It is his understanding that all of the
area around his home on the Danby road is zoned commercial. His concern
is that a large business will move in next to him and build up the land
with fill and make his property susceptable to poor drainage.
He was advised that any business that may move in would have to be
checked by the health department and must pass inspection. He was also
told that his property is already zoned.residential.
Walt sczepanski inquired about the creeks and streams in the town and
if any decisions have been made about cleaning them of debris. Donald
Graham advised us that the county has sent literature to town supervisors
advising what towns may do.
Minutes were read and corrected to include Jim Hovanec as present, and
to add to his statement about the'town buying the school, that he recommen-
ed that a study be made to determine the feasability of the town buying
the school for various town uses. To be added also is that Frank Haskins,
as zoning officer be asked to attend Planning Board meetings.
A motion was made by Jim to accept the minutes as corrected, seconded
by Walt, and passed.
We recommend to the Town Board that Chuck Bruces ammendment to his
P.U°.D. be'approved for a ublic hearing. Dove by Carol Benjamin, second -
ed.by Walt Sczepanski, 20§00 Jim Hovanec abstain
The general consensus of the Planning Board is that there is a great
lack of communication and follow up between the Planning Board and the
Town Board. The Planning Board is at a standstill as far as planning and
expanding for Danby.
We would like to make a recommendation that a Town Board member attend
each Planning Board meeting. Moved by Jim Hovanec, sec:onded by Walt
Sczepanski, all in favor.
We voted to have our corrected and approved minutes published in the
Danby Area Newsletter. Moved by Donald Graham, seconded by Carol Benjamin,
all in favor.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
The next meeting will be June 16, 1982 8:00 P.M. Danby School
