It showed a net loss before capital investment of $6,730.19 and after investment of $9,372.60. It also showed the 1 final results for the year 1971 compared with 1969 and 1970. Total passengers carried during 1971 amounted to 282,0+8, the highest number since the City started operating j the buses. 1 It was moved by Comm. Golder, seconded by Comm. Putand carried that the report be accepted and placed on file. BUS REPORT: Commissioner Downing presented a bus report for the three -months ending March: 31, 1972, as compared with the same periods for the two preceding years. It showed a net profit after ammortization for the period of $2,632.08 by the reflection of other in- come received during the period from Cornell and Ithaca Colleges. By Commissioner Downing: Seconded by Commissioner Putney. RESOLVED, that the report be accepted and filed. CARRIED. BUS =CRT: The Superintendent presented a bus report for the months of April, May, and June as compared with a si:d lar period d., ring the two preceding years. It showed a net loss for the period before capital investment, of $4,820.86 and after capital investment of $6 ,972.78. The report was accepted and ordered filed. -`� BUS REPORT: The Superintendent presented a bus report for the months of July, August and September as compared with a similar period during the preceding two years. It showed a net loss for the period before capital investment of $10,655.47 and after capital investment a net loss of $17,111.23. The report was accepted and ordered filed. 0-,* • • 3 FREE BUS TRANSPORTATION: Comm. Clyries reported that they had been working with the ipDowntown Businessmen's Association to provide free bus transportation to coincide with the registration at the schools. Coupons for free bus rides would be given and the Downtown Businessmen's Association would subsidize the city to the amount of $250.00, a lower amount than that given last year. .� 3 By Comm. Putney RESOLVED, that the transit system cooperate with the Associatio for the week of August 28, 1972 to September 9, 1972 in accepting bus coupons for riding the buses, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the merchants pay the amount of $250.00 to offset the cost t. of this operation. • .' • • 4 BUS CONTRACT WITH WESTONS: Attorney Gersh reported that the Department of Public Works had arranged for the Transit System to incorporate Weston into their run starting January 1, 1973. A Contract was prepared which releases the City from any action if anything happens while in the Westons Parking Lot, giving the City permission to advertise, etc. The Mayor now needed authorization to sign this contract. By Comm. Downing: seconded by Comm. Putney RESOLVED, that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Westons for the purpose of allowing the Transit System to stop at Westons, on their property.
