ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONL MEETING
TOWN HALL, 7:30 PM
FEBRUARY 5TH, 2007
ATTENDING:
L. RAYMOND, C. DARLING, P. GAINES, S. THANE, T. TYLUTKI
Items of Business:
1) Schedule of Business Meetings for 2007 was established as follows:
May 7
September 10 All meetings to convene at 7:30 PM at Town Hall
December 3
Motion to adopt Schedule by Pat Gaines, seconded by Carolann Darling
All voted aye to adopt this Schedule for 2007
2) Vice-Chair:
Motion to elect Steve Thane as Vice-Chair for 2007
Motion seconded by Pat Gaines
All voted to elect Steve Thane as Vice-Chair
3) In-service Training:
Tom Tylutki has been taking an online course from the NYS
Planning Federation on planning and zoning
The course was established by the NYPF ub response to
new State Law requiring training by all planning and
zoning board members
It was suggested by L. Raymond that if Tom was willing, it might
Be possible to have him pass on what he has learned to both the
Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals. It this way both boards
Could meet in-service training requirement in-house here in Groton.
It was agreed that Tom Tylutki would go to next meeting of
Town Board with this in-service training idea to see if it
would be an acceptable way to meet the in-service training
requirement.
4) The Chair
L. Raymond, current Chair, indicated he would like to step down
as ZBA Chair and become just a member of the ZBA. He proposed
that Steve Thane, as Vice-Chair would be a logical person to take
over the Chair's duties.
During discussion of this proposed move by L. Raymond,
Steve Thane proposed that he and Lyle could jointly conduct
ZBA affairs for this year, after which it would be proposed to
the Town Board that Steve be appointed Chair for 2008.
This was agreed to by Lyle and by the members present.
