TOWN OF DANBY
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
December 26, 1979
A special meeting of the Danby Town. Board was called to order at
8;00 P.M. at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Town of Danby,
Tompkins County, New York on December 26, 1979. The purpose of the
meeting was to pay the end of the year bills not included in the
December 10, 1979 warrants.

Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Councilperson Dorothy Roaberts
Councilman Robert Snedden
Board member absent; Justice Milton Todd
Others present; Roy Hornbrook, Onalee Wright, Roy Casterline, Bradley
Corbitt, Bean L'Amoreaux, Mildred Miller, Edward Slights, Ted Merritt
In other business, Councilmaa Ralph Wilbur made the motion that the
Town Clerk be authorized to make three copies of the 1980 budget for
the new town officers. The motion was seconded by Councilperson
Dorothy Roberts and carried by a vote of four and no noes.
Supervisor A. Francis Wright turned over some of the supervisor's
records to the new town supervisor to take office the first of
January. He noted that he has a typewriter, calculator and check
writer that he will turn over to her as soon as he has completed
his work. Also, he stated that he will make an appointment with the

Highway Superintendent, Roy Hornbrook explained that there insufficient
funds in highway accounts DR5110`.4 and DM5130.4 to pay the year end
bills. $4,779.83 is needed in the Repairs and Improvements account
DR5110.4 and $2,053.55 is needed in the Machinery account DM5130.4 for
a total of $6,833.38. Funds are available in other highway acoounts
as follows: Bridge account DB5120.4, $302.40, Snow and Miscellaneous
account DS5142.1, $5143.16 and in Snow and Miscellaneous account
DS5142.4. Councilman Ralph Wilbur moved a resolution to transfer the
necessary f-�nds to pay the year end highway bills. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Robert Snedden.

Carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes.
The law suit Rick Dobson has instigated against the Town of Danby was
discussed. The town is covered by insurance. Thaler and Thaler have
been following through on this matter. The request was made that the
new town board authorize Thaler and Thaler to continue to take care
of this matter. After discussion by the board Councilperson Dorothy
Roberts made the motion that Thaler and Thaler be asked to continue to
represent the town in the Dobson law suit. Councilman Robert Snedden
seconded the motion which was carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes.
Town finances were discussed for the information of the new board. The
large obligations the town now has are the snow plow and the West Danby
Water District.

Dean IL'Amoreaux requested that the balance of the funds in the youth
budget after all 1979 bills have been paid or $438.43 be incumbered
to support the spring sports program at the Danby School. After
discussion by the board, Councilman Robert Snedden moved a resolution
that the balance of the youth budget account in the amount of $438.43
be so incumbered. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Dorothy
Roberts.

The town clerk requested that the balance of the clerk's account be
incumbered as she has not yet purchased her year end supplies. Council-
person Dorothy Roberts moved a resolution to incumber the balance of
the clerk's account in the amount of $71.93 for supplies. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Ralph Wilbur,

Highway Fund Warrant X13 in the amount of $7,265.06 was approved to
be paid. The motion was made by Councilman Ralph Wilbur and seconded
by Councilman Robert Snedden and carried by a vote of four ayes and
no noes.
General Fund Warrant #13 in the amount of $243.84 was approved to be
paid. The motion was made by Councilman Ralph Wilbur and seconded by
Councilperson Dorothy Roberts and carried by a vote of four ayes and no
noes.
West Danby Water District Warrant #13 in the amount of $235.07 was
approved to be paid. The motion was made by Councilperson Dorthy
Roberts and seconded by Councilman Robert Snedden and carried by a
vote of four ayes and no noes.
As there was no other business to be transacted the meeting was declared
adjourned at 9;30 P.M. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Wright.
