PUBLIC HEARING ON INCREASE
OF
DOG LICENSE FEES
October 11, 1978
A public hearing was held by the Town Board of the Town of Danby ,
County of Tompkins and State of New York at the Danby Town Hall ,
1830 Danby Road at 7 : 30 P . M . on October 11 , 1978 as duly advertised
in the Ithaca Journal in the October 6 , 1978 issue . The purpose of
the hearing was to hold an informational meeting and consider increa -
sing the fees to be paid for dog licenses .
Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Councilman Robert Snedden
Also present : Carol Hunter from S . P . C . A .
The hearing was called to order at 7 : 40 P . M . by the Supervisor who then
introduced Carol Hunter . Bill Brothers could not attend . Carol Hunter
explained what the S . P . C . A . does for Danby . Any additional services
must be contracted for .
The Supervisor stated that any money raised through an increase in
dog license fees will be used for dog control . Discussion followed .
Supervisor A . Francis Wright made the motion that the 1979 dog license
fees be increased by $ 5 . 00 . This would make the fee for a male dog or
a spayed female dog $ 7 . 35 , the fee for an unspayed female dog $ 10 . 35 and
the cost of a kennel license would be $ 15 . 00 . The motion was seconded
by Councilman Robert Snedden and carried by a vote of three ayes and
no noes . This to be in the form of Local Law # 1 for 1978 .
All persons wishing to be heard , having been heard , the hearing was
adjourned at 8 : 40 P . M .
