The structure supports a low-pitched hip ioof with green asbestos shingles and a delicate plain frieze running around the entire 'luilding. The building sets on a stone foundation with small windows in the full Osament. Timber beams and posts is the construction system. The exterior wall material is clapboard with the cor- ners of the building denoted by thin cornerboards. The facade is divided into five bays with a six-foot projection of the last two bays on the left end. This projection denotes the entrance with its one story porch that Kos two wooden square posts sup -- porting a triangular pediment. The _;ouLl_e doors do not appear to be cririnal. There is n 1. ter one-story ou:_.'iticn in the center of the front facade. The addition is not in the character of the rest of 07 building. Before the Grange hall was built in 1911, the site was an orchard of Tompkins County icing Fipple trees. The only surviving apple tree is in Harland Knight's backycrd. Knight is a post Ulysses Grand ksstsr of the Grange. As port of its community service: work, Ulysses Grange gave the use of its hall for voter registration and as a polling place for come twenty years. In 1950? the seventy-nine year old Waterburg Gro:nge voted to join Ulysses Grange. The hall was sold two years ago, and Ulysses Grange now meets in the Hearth Room of the Jacksonville Community Church.
