HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-PDB-1966-06-23 PLANNING BOARD PROCEEDINGS City of Ithaca, N. Y. Special Meeting June 23, 1966 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Chairman Stallman, Mrs. Nordheimer, Messrs. Alo and Carpenter. ALSO: Assistant Planner Sinn, and Representatives from the South Hill Civic Assn. NEW BUSINESS: James Street Apartments II - Mrs. Nordheimer presented the Codes and Ordinances Committee report concerning an A.D.D. request to build seven apartments on James Street. She indicated that all the provisions had been complied vuith, except for a landscape plan which should be made part of the Planning Board's approval. Several members of the South Hill Civic Association expressed concern over the additional traffic these apartments might tend to generate. Mr. Georgiou, Secretary of the Civic Assoc., pre- sented a proposal for a new bridge to cross the Six Mile Creek gorge. He also expres- sed a desire to have the City look into the possibility of a neighborhood park and a small shopping facility. Mrs. Nordheimer MOVED, "that the Board accept the report and study its proposals". Seconded by Mr. Carpenter. It was recommended by the Board that the problem of the bridge be referred to the Board of Public 111orks. Mrs. Nordheimer MOVED, ithat the request to build seven apartments under the A.D.D. provision be approved with the conditions as presented by the Codes and Ordinam ces Committee".
