HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-PDB-1966-03-24 PLANNING BOARD PROCEEDINGS City of Ithaca, N. Y. Special Meeting March 24, 1966 4:00 p.m. PRESENT: Mrs. Nordheimer, Messrs. Alo, Carpenter, Colbert, Feldt, and Schmidt. ALSO: Assistant Planner Sinn and Mr. Niederkorn. A joint committee meeting of the General Plan and Capital Improvements Committee, and the Community Facilities and Services Committee was called to discuss an applica- tion to the State for development funds concerning the proposed lake front park. The Committee was called into executive session by Vice-Chairman, Pers. Nordheimer and the following motion was passed unanimously. "The Planning Board supports the recommendation submitted to apply for develop- ment funds for the lakefront park under the present Land and dater Conservation Act and the City should initiate action to begin the following items in 1966. 1. Acquire necessary lands and begin removal of the railroad yard. 2. To dredge and pile the first stage of the marina. 3. To provide additional playfields. 4. To begin seeding and landscaping of picnic areas.
