HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-08-30 TOWN OF DANBY PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED BUDGE'T' OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS August 30 , 1977 A public hearing was held by the Danby Town Board of the Town of Danby , County of Tompkins and State of New York at the Danby Town Hall , 1830 Danby Road at 8 : 00 P . M . on August 30 , 1977 as duly advertised in the August 20 , 1977 issue of the Ithaca Journal . The purpose of the hearing was to consider the proposed budget for the use of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds . • Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright Councilman Paul Smith Justice Floyd Dorn Justice Milton Todd • Board member absent : Councilman Ralph Wilbur Others present : Frank Proto , Jack Baker , Judson Leonard , Edward Slights , James Murinchack , Roger Buckley , WTKO reporter . The hearing was called to order and the clerk furnished proof of publication of the notice to the town board . Copies of the proposed budget were given to all persons present and the supervisor went over the figures with them . A letter was received from the Danby Fire District requesting $3 , 408 . 00 of revenue sharing funds to replace hose . Supervisor Wright stated that on the advise of Audit and Control and the instructions for setting up budgets for Revenue Sharing Funds he could not grant the request . Revenue Sharing Funds cannot be budgeted to a secondary recipient which the Danby Fire District is . The Senior Citizens had requested funds and were instructed to submit a budget . They did not respond . James Murinchack suggested that instead of showing two separate figures one for repairing the Town Hall and the other to landscape and install a parking area , just budget the total set aside for these projects , or $ 10 , 000 . 00 , for repair to the Town Hall and grounds .
