SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
June 21 , 1977
The Danby Town Loard held a special meeting June 21 , 1977 at the
Danby Town Hall 1830 Danby Road at 7 : 45 P . M . The purpose of the
meeting was to make an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Town
of Danby Board of Zoning Appeals and to make a decision on the
purchase of a used tank trailer and a used tractor truck combin-
ation .
Board members present : Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Councilman Paul Smith
411 Justice Floyd Dorn
Justice Milton Todd
Board member absent : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
• The first order of business was to appoint a chairman as the
Supervisor was absent . Councilman .alph `Wilbur was appointed
chairman .
The tank and truck were discussed . The board having made an
inspection and finding the tank to be in good shape and the
tractor also the following resolution was moved by Justice Milton
Todd : Whereas a notice to bidders was published in the Ithaca
Journal and whereas Dick Watt , ( Brockway Representative ) submitted
the only bid for a used stainless steel tank trailer and a used
tractor truck combination which met the specifications draw up by
the highway department , and whereas this hid was in the amount
of $ 3 , 000 . 00 , be it resolved that the Town of Danby purchase the
tank and tractor . Councilman Paul Smith seconded the motion .

AND USED TRACTOR TRUCK COMBINATION
FOR $ 3 , 000 . 00 .
Roll call vote : Wilbur - aye
Smith - aye
Dorn - aye
Todd - aye
Carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes .
The appointment of an appeals board member was discussed . The person
being considered to fill the vacancy already holds an official position
in the town , It must be determined whether these two positions are
compatible before the appointment can be made officially . phis may
take some time . Because there is a vacancy on the Town of Danby
Board of Zoning Appeals , the Town Board asked that the appeals to be
heard before this board be postponed for one month giving them time
to make an appointment . There will be no board of zoning appeals
hearing in July .
