TOWN BOARD SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
September 20 , 1976
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was held Monday , September
20 , 1976 at the Danby Town Hall , Town of Danby , Tompkins County ,
New York . The purpose of the meeting was to discuss furnishing
the town hall , appointment of a member to serve on the Danby
Board of Zoning Appeals , talk to people from Camp McCormick and
work on the 1977 town budget .

Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Councilman Paul Smith
Justice Floyd Dorn
Justice Milton Todd
Others present : Edward Slights , Joseph Hulbert , Dennis Pollack ,
Kevin Shreve , Onalee Wright .
Dennis Pollack and Kevin Shreve represented Camp McCormick which is
a home for boys that need supervision . These boys also need work to
do . Mr . Pollack and Mr . Shreve asked the board if the town had work
that these boys could do . After some discussion the motion was made
by Councilman Ralph Wilbur that a committee be set up to work with
the Highway Superintendent , Joseph Hulbert , to line up jobs for the
Camp McCormick boys . The motion was seconded by Councilman Paul
Smith and carried by a vote of five ayes and no noes .
The purchase of furniture for the town hall was discussed at length .
The board asked Mary Oltz , chairman of the committee to purchase
furniture for the town hall , to set up an appointment with Mr . Race
to discuss needs and price . The tenative date for this meeting is
October 4 , 1976 at 8 : 00 P . M . at the Danby Town Hall .
The planning board has asked the town board and the board of zoning
appeals to meet with them September 29 , 1976 at the county planning
office . The purpose of the meeting will be to review the zoning
ordinance .
Two people were suggested as possible appeals board members . After
discussion by the board Kurt Bogart was appointed to the Town of
Danby Board of Zoning Appeals . The motion was made by Justice Floyd
Dorn and seconded by Councilman Paul Smith and carried by a vote of
five ayes and no noes .
Joseph Hulbert reported that Mr . French would like the school bus
to travel up Brown Road to his trailer park to pick up school
• children . It was noted that it is the policy of the school not
to have buses travel a dead end if it is less than one mile . A lengthy
discussion followed . Joseph Hulbert and Milton Todd were asked to
check with property owners of a possible site for a shelter . It was
discussed and determined that the town has no responsibility in
matters of this nature .
After some discussion the following resolution was moved by Justice
Milton Todd and seconded by Justice Floyd Dorn . Transfer $ 270 . 00
from the bridge fund to DR5110 . 4 Highway Improvement Fund as this _
additional amount is needed to pay cost of highway improvement .

Carried by a vote of five ayes and no noes .
Councilman Ralph Wilbur moved the following resolution which was
seconded by Councilman Paul Smith . Transfer funds in the amount
of $ 5 , 196 . 43 from Highway Funds to DR5110 . 4 General Repairs .
