TOWN OF DANBY
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
August 19 , 1976
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was held Thursday , August
19 , 1976 at 8 : 30 P . M . at the town hall . The purpose of the meeting •
was to inspect the renovation work done on the town hall and to
audit the general fund warrant .
Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Justice Floyd Dorn
Justice Milton Todd
Board member absent : Councilman Paul Smith
The town board members inspected the building and discussed problems
that need to be brought to the attention of Bob Boehlecke and the
building committee . Following is a list of the problems :
1 . The quality of the carpet was questioned and also it needed
more cleaning .
2 . The floor in the large meeting room needs more work . It is
still not level enough .
3 . The window for serving the public in the clerk ' s office is
not satisfactory . It should be made wider and the window
closeure should be more sturdy and a good lock put on it .
4 . It was noted that the paint is very thin in spots .
5 . The flush tank for the urinals is not working properly .
6 . There should be petitions in the restrooms so that when
the doors are opened the entire room is not in view .
7 . There was a question as to the basement being complete
per specs .
The building committee will go over the problems and report back to
the town board . The motion was made by Justice Milton Todd to table
the signing of the completion certificate until the building comm-
ittee and Bob Boehlecke have come to some agreement about correcting
these problems . Justice Floyd Dorn seconded the motion which was
carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes . The next meeting of the
town board will be at 7 : 30 P . M . to go over this matter with the
building committee . A committee will be needed to suggest rules for
the use of the town hall .
An audit was made of the General Fund Warrant #8 to see what the
expenses of the bicentennial committee were . The board acknow-
ledged the receipt of $ 6Ji1 . 17 from the bicentennial committee . The
receipts and copies of the bills paid will be needed for the town
• records . The motion was made by Councilman Ralph Wilbur to accept
General Fund Warrant #8 in the amount of ` /,1 /f for payment .
The motion was seconded by Justice Floyd Dorn and carried by a vote
of four ayes and no noes .
After considerable discussion the following resolution to adopt the
wetlands law to become part of the Danby Zoning Ordinance and also that
the maps become a part of the Danby Zoning Map in accordance with
Article 24 Section 0301 of the New York State Environmemtal Conser-
vation Law was moved by Councilman Ralph Wilbur . This resolution
was seconded by Justice Milton Todd .
