SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
January 22 , 1976
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was held with
Architect Bob Boehlecke to discuss bids received for the reno -
vation of the Town Hall . The meeting was held at the Danby
Fire Station on Route 96B in the Town of Danby at 8 : 00 P . M .
Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councilman Paul Smith
Justice Floyd Dorn
Justice Milton Todd
Board member absent : Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Also present : Edward Slights .
• The meeting was called to order at 8 : 20 P . M .
A resolution was moved by Councilman Paul Smith to certify the
allocation of funds used for previous study of Town Hall . All
charges for this study are to be paid from surplus funds in the
general fund budget . Justice Floyd Dorn seconded the motion .
RESOLUTION #9 FUNDS TO PAY FOR PREVIOUS STUDY OF
TOWN HALL RENOVATION BE TAKEN FROM
SURPLUS FUNDS 1N GENERAL FUND BUDGET
Roll Call Vote : Wright - aye
I/ Smith - aye
Dorn - aye
Todd - aye
Carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes .
The architect and Town Board Members went over the figures budgeted
for the renovation of the Town Hall and how much of this has been
spent to date . It was noted that Mrs . Sisler of the Ithaca
Historical Society has $ 1 , 000 . 00 to donate to the Danby Town Hall
renovation . The bids received for the renovation were discussed
at length . I . J . Construction Company is the low bidder without
considering any of the alternates , but the Novaar Mackesey bid is
very close . After a lengthy discussion of all the alternates a
resolution was moved by Councilman Paul Smith that the Novaar and
Mackesey bid with alternates # 1 , #4 , and #8 , making their ' s the
low bid , be accepted and the board authorize the supervisor to execute
the contract for the renovation of the Town Hall . The motion was
seconded by Justice Milton Todd .

All the contractors who submitted bids will be notified of the boards
acceptance of the Novaar and Mackesey bid by the supervisor .
In other business it was decided that when new envelopes are
printed for the town only " Town of Danby " will be printed on
them .
At 9 : 30 P . M . the motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Justice
Milton Todd and seconded by Councilman Paul Smith and carried
by a vote of four ayes and no noes .
