January 15 , 1976
The regular meeting of the Town of Danby Planning Board was held
in the Danby Elementary School , Thursday , January 15 , 1976 . The
meeting was called to order at 8 : 10 P . M . by Chairman , Ernest Cole .
Board members present : Ernest Cole - Chairman
Clifford Hill - Vice - chairman
Stanley Kirk
Donald Graham
Edgar Oltz
Board member absent - Alberta Wilbur
William Best
Others present : A . Francis Wright , Supervisor Town of Danby ; Gordon
Roberts , Zoning Officer ; Gary Evans , Tompkins County Planning Office .
Minutes of the previous meeting were not read due to the absence of the
secretary .
An article written for the Danby Area News drafted by Gary Evans of
the Tompkins County Planning Office , concerning the purpose of the
zoning ordinance in the town was discussed and
January .
Mr . and will be
sent to Mrs . Beatrice Hogben by the 20th
Mr . Wright , Town Supervisor , reported at some length with reference to
edn Town
Hall renovation . This was discussed
options and the cost of the town hall renovation .
The Board of Zoning Appeals asked the Planning Board to make jilrecom end -
ations on the proposed nursery on Danby Road ( 96B ) by
some discussion a motion was made by Donald Graham and seconded by
Stanley Kirk and approved by all the members present that the Planning
Board does not have any jurisdiction in the matter because the request
does not meet the standards of the special permit or the general
provisions of the R- 2 Zone . Therefore , we can take no action . An
ammendment to the motion was made by Clifford Hill and seconded by
Donald Graham that the only option Board � this

ask for a rezoning by the Town
members present .
Gary Evans of the Tompkins County Planning Office presented - aSdrafdraft on
the outline of District Regulations and also on Article VI
600 to 600 . 09 .

This proposal was approved by the members present . The next meeting
will be Wednesday , January 28 , 1976 at the Danby Elementary School
at 8 : 00 P . M :
The motion to adjourn was made by Stanley Kirk and seconded by Edgar
Oltz and approved by members present . The meeting was adjourned at
10 : 40 P . M .
