The second phase of the 100-acre
Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex
on Rote 13 is in limbo, said Town
Supervisor Richard Tupper. "We're
still waiting for grants," he said
Wednesday.
However,the town of Cortlandville
has set fees for the facility, and has
reached an agreement with the Cort-
land Crush baseball team to play at the
park at Route 13 and Gracie Road.
Part of phase two would be the
installation of soccer and lacrosse
fields, Tupper said. The number of
fields is still unknown.
"We can't tell until we see money,"
he said.
Two baseball fields, a parking lot,
walking paths and utilities have been
built so far, completed last year in the
development's first phase.
The two baseball fields are able
to accommodate teams from Little
League to college levels,with bases
and fences that can be mo ied to ac-
comodate-all"levels-of play: _
• The cost, for the entire park once
finished has been estimated between
$16 million and $18 million and
would include four baseball dia-
monds, eight soccer fields and three
sand volleyball courts.
Fee rates for use of the park were
set last week. "We have three differ-
ent levels of fees,"Tupper said at last '
week's Town Board meeting.
Fees include:
•$50 an hour per field if the fields
are used through the Cortland Re-
gional Sports Council.
• $75 per hour per field for local
and county organizations,or$50 per
hour per field if there is a commit-
ment for multiple days or weekends.
. • $150 per hour per field for
outside organizations not working
through the Cortland Regional Sports
Council,or$125 per hour per field if
there is a commitment for multiple
days or weekends.
On top of all the fees is a $50
charge per hour per field for lighting,
when"needed, and $15 per hour for
