SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
May 28 , 1974
A special meeting . of the Denby- Town Board was called to order at
8 : 05 P . M . at the .Danby . Fire Station. May 28 , 1974 . The purpose of
the meeting . . was to open bids for a new voting machine .
Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councllman . Clyde Carrier
Justice Milton Todd
. Board member tardy : Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Board member absent : Justice Floyd Dorn
The only bid received for a voting machine was from the Automatic
Voting Machine Division AVM Corporation . The clerk was instructed
to open and read the bid . The bid was in ,the amount of $2 , 009 . 00
for one Automatic Voting Machine of the 9 party . row , 30 office size ,
manually operated , New York State type , equipped with Printed Return
Mechanism , F . O . B . Jamestown , New York , payable within 30 days after
receipt of invoice . The motion was made by Justice Milton Todd to
accept the bid . The motion was seconded by Councilman Clyde Carrier .
RESOLUTION #12 ACCEPT BID IN THE AMOUNT OF
$2 , 009 . 00 FOR A NEW VOTING
MACHINE

Carrier - aye
Todd - aye
Carried three ayes and no noes .
Supervisor A . Francis Wright said that it is necessary to . draw up
boundarys for a third voting district in the Town of Denby . He
instructed the clerk to write to the Board of Elections and request
that they handle this matter for the town .
Supervisor A . Francis Wright told the board that Lawrence Cortright
was contacted and is willing to act as a, member of the Local Board of
Assessment Review . Councilman Clyde Carrier made the motion to
appoint Mr . Cortright to this position . Justice Milton Todd seconded the
motion which was carried .by a vote of three ayes and no noes . The
clerk will advise Mr . Cortright of his appointment .
The board agreed that the supervisor should .. request an extension
of time for the spending of Revenue Sharing Funds already received .
The Town ' s allocation for July 1 , 1974 - June 30 , 1975 was discussed .
Justice Milton Todd made the motion that $5 , 000 . 00 of these funds
be put in the Highway Machinery Fund and the balance be put in the
Capital Fund for the Town Hall . Councilman Clyde Carrier seconded the
motion .

Carried four ayes and no noes .
Councilman Ralph. . Wilbur said that a date should be set for the tour of
the town highways . The board set Saturday . June 8 , 1974 at 1 : 00 P . M . as
as the date for the tour . The board members will meet at the Highway
Barns .
Supervisor A . Francis Wright adjourned the meeting at 8 : 30 P . M .
