LEGAL NOTICE
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of
Cortlandville on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the parties may be
heard, at the Raymond G. Thorpe Municipal Building located at 3577 Terrace Road, Cortland, New
York concerning the enactment of a Local Law of 2023 titled, “A Local Law Authorizing Real
Property Tax Exemption for Volunteer Firefighters and Volunteer Ambulance Service Workers”.
The purpose of this law is to provide a real property tax exemption for the primary residence owned
by a volunteer firefighter or volunteer ambulance service workers, pursuant to Real Property Tax
Law §466-a. The text of the proposed Local Law is available for examination at the office of the
Town Clerk and is also available online at https://www.cortlandville.org. At said hearing, all persons
wishing to comment on the proposed Local Law shall be given an opportunity to be heard.
