APPOINTMENT OF ACTING CHAIR
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to appoint Commissioner Thompson as Acting
Chair of the meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
Commissioner Thompson called the meeting to order at 11:40 am.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 6, 2016
meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
NEW BUSINESS
New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: Ithaca City School
District – Coordinator of Health Services and Wellness
The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the
Ithaca City School District and the proposed job description for Coordinator of Health
Services and Wellness. Commissioner Abrams made a motion to classify the position as
Coordinator of Health Services and Wellness and adopt the job description as proposed.
Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
New Position Duties Statement: DPW – Financial Management Assistant
The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the
Department of Public Works. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to classify the
position as Financial Management Assistant. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams.
Motion carried 2-0.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioner Thompson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil
service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2-0.
During executive session, the Commission took the following actions:

CONTINUING BUSINESS
Approval of Roster of Candidates for Examination
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the Roster of Candidates for Manager
of Fiscal Operations Examination #68-529. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson.
Motion carried 2-0.
Establishment of Eligible List
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to establish Assistant Fire Chief Eligible List #70-
843 for two years. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
Addition of Candidates to Continuous Recruitment Eligible Lists
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to add candidates to the continuous recruitment
eligible lists. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
Approval of Personnel Transactions
Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions. Seconded
by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 2-0.
The next Civil Service Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at
11:30 am.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:15 pm.
