REGULAR MEETING
April 8, 1996
Present: Commissioner Bantuvanis, Commissioner Perko, Bonnie Fiorille (Senior Stenographer), Hugh Hurlbut
Commissioner Bantuvanis called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Perko made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 11, 1996 civil service commission meeting.
Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried 2-0.
NEW BUSINESS
APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
Personnel Administrator Saul is recommending that the Commission appoint Hugh Hurlbut as the Executive Secretary to
the Civil Service Commission while she is out on maternity leave.
Commissioner Perko made a motion to appoint Hugh Hurlbut as Executive Secretary to the Civil Service Commission.
Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried 2-0.
RECLASSIFICATION REQUEST: TYPIST TO SENIOR TYPIST(POLICE DEPARTMENT)
The Commission reviewed a job classification questionnaire completed by Typist Holley Seamon. After discussion, the
Commission determined that Ms. Seamon's current duties exceed those of her current Typist classification. The
Commission determined that the appropriate classification for Ms. Seamon's job is Senior Typist. Commissioner Perko
made a motion to reclassify Ms. Seamon's position from Typist to Senior Typist. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis.
Motion carried 2-0.
• REVISION OF MICROCOMPUTER SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Stenographer Fiorille explained to the Commission that there had been an omission in the minimum qualifications
of the Microcomputer Specialist job description which was submitted last month. The school district is requesting the
following addition:
C. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5)years of full time paid
experience or its part time paid equivalent, in the management or support off computer systems including
substantial experience in the set up and installation of computer hardware and software.
Commissioner Perko made a motion to revise the minimum qualifications of the Microcomputer Specialist job description.
Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion carried 2-0.
Commissioner Bantuvanis made a motion to go into Executive Session to discuss civil service examination matters.
Seconded by Commissioner Perko. Motion carried 2-0. During Executive Session, the Commission took the following
actions.

AMENDMENT TO YOUTH WORKER ELIGIBLE LIST
Bonnie Fiorille explained to the Commission that a candidate on the Youth Worker Eligible List had inadvertently put the
incorrect dates of employment on his civil service application for Youth Worker and therefore does not meet the minimum
qualifications for the position. Ms. Fiorille is requesting that the candidates name be removed from the eligible list.

Commissioner Perko made a motion to remove Godofredo Burgos name from the current Youth Worker Eligible List No.
66-443 for failure to meet the minimum qualifications for the position. Seconded by Commissioner Bantuvanis. Motion
carried 2-0.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:05.
