HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-11-10 REGULAR MEETING OF THE DANBY PLANNING BOARD
November 10 , 1971
Present : Olson , Smith , Kirk , Cole , Weitzel , Chapman , Ackerman
No decision was reached on the question of a minimum of
150 foot road frontage for a lot to meet zoning requirements .
The board felt that if a lot complied with the other
requirements that this should not be a major factor in the
consideration of issuing a permit .
A plot plan submitted by Francis Chase was given
consideration .
The only thing that this plan showed were lot sizes
for 9 lots . The board has no idea what the intended purpose
of this land . As chairman , I have heard from no one in
regard to this plan , it was just handed to me . The board
feels that the lots are too narrow and too deep . For an
individual to be able to build , he must have 150 foot of
road frontage and the board feels that for a developer , who
is :not even a town resident and won ' t have to live with
the situation , to be given this much advantage over an
individual owner would not be fair .
The board ' s only decision was based on lot size alone
as there were not enough facts relative to the ultimate use
to make any final judgement .
A suggestion was made that we have in attendance at the
earliest convenience an attorney familiar with town law that
can give us some specifics as to what each Board ' s respon-
sibilities were , what their obligations are , and what type of
legal authority each has and how each body is supposed to
interact with the other .
Those in question are : 1 . Zoning Officer
2 . Zoning Board of Appeals
3 . Planning Board
We would like to make this a joint meeting on the parts
of the three parties mentioned above .
Meeting adjourned at 10 P . M .
Respectfully submit • ,
