GENERAL BUSINESS
Linda Hirvonen called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM.
Public Hearing for: Area Variance, Applicant: Steven McKay, 207
Emmons Road, Tax Parcel No. 22.-1-4
David Dittman made a motion to open the Public Hearing at 7:03 PM. Henry
(Hurf) Sheldon Seconded.
VOTE AS FOLLOWS:

MOTION CARRIED.
Member/Public Comments/Concerns:
Mr. McKay appeared before the Board requesting an Area Variance. Mr. McKay
is proposing to add a 9' x 24' lean-to addition to an existing non conforming
barn structure. The existing barn structure is non conforming due to the set back
requirements. There will be no portion of the proposed addition placed closer to
the road.
Jeffrey Overstrom stated he has discussed this proposal with the Town Highway
Superintendent, and he does not have any issues with the set back.

Henry (Hurf) Sheldon made a motion to close the Public Hearing at 7:07 PM.
Daniel Konowalow seconded.

MOTION CARRIED.
The Board Members reviewed the criteria for an Area Variance.
1. Can benefit be achieved by other means feasible to Applicant?
No.
2. Is there any undesirable change in the neighborhood character or to
nearby properties?
No.
3. Is the request substantial?
No.
4. Will the request have adverse physical or environmental effects?
No.
5. Is the alleged difficulty self-created?
Yes.
Daniel Konowalow made a motion requesting that the petition for the Area
Variance be granted. David Dittman seconded.

MOTION CARRIED.
Approval/Denial of April 21, 2009 Minutes
Henry (Hurf) Sheldon requested on page 2 under Gregg Travis remove the
Voting/Motions, as there was not a motion on the table.

Daniel Konowalow requested on page 2, add a % sign after 14.3
Henry (Hurf) Sheldon requested on page 2, under James Mason # 3 should read:
In keeping with the architectural heritage of time.
David Dittman made a motion to accept the Minutes of April 21, 2009 as
amended. Henry (Hurf) Sheldon seconded.
