DECEMBER 9 , 1970
Present : Olson , Weitzel , Kirk , Cole , Chapman
Also present : G . Roberts , J . Rance , R . Eckert
Minutes of September meeting approved as read .
J ohn Rance and Robert Eckert presented proposal for planned
d evelopment for a recreational area in the town of Danby ,
✓ oughly 1300 X 1500 feet , part of parcel 23 - 1 - 10 , town of
Danby tax map . After discussion and due consideration ,
Stanley Kirk made a motion that we approve the proposal
w ith the following modifications :
1 . Approve with the understanding that any variance from
o riginal stated uses be again presented to the
appropriate boards for reapproval .
2 . Any camping on the premises would have to be
associated with an event and would then be limited
to a reasonable amount of time for the event .
3 . Revision in the rules and bylaws to state the
✓ ecognized organized groups that would or could
u se this area . Currently states " Boy Scouts ,
YMCA , etc . "
4 . Proposed building for the future limited to usage
coinciding with events so approved .
Seconded by Ernest Cole . Motion passed , 5 ayes , 0 noes .
Asked for volunteers for vice - chairmanship , no volunteers ,
postponed until next meeting to see if one of the members
not in attendance would be interested .
Reviewed with Gordon .Roberts the standing of Dobson Violation .
No change .
Discussed possibilities of burned house on Danby Rd . G . Roberts
to check on status . Also discussed junk cars and what to do
about them . Mention made of aerial photographs as a starting
point in determining what was current . Ernest Cole mentioned
possibility of using Dept . of Agriculture photos available
here in Ithaca .
Meeting adjourned at 10 : 30 P . M .
