Sales Tax Revenues — Under Section 1262 of the N.Y. Tax Law it states that your distributions
of sales tax revenues are to be submitted to the County no later than September 1 of each year.
(As noted in NYS/DTF Volume 8 — Opinions of Counsel SBEA No. 46) — "A city or town election
to receive any share of county sales tax revenues to which it may be entitled, as a direct payment
rather than as a credit against the county tax levy therein, must be made by September first. Once
made, such election remains in effect until rescinded."
During your next meeting please discuss your Sales Tax Revenue and make sure you want it to be
distributed the same way it was last year. If you do not notifv us by September 1, 2023 of anv
changes, the sales tax revenue will be distributed as it was last vear.
Town Budgets — In order for us to get Town and County tax bills completed in a timely manner,
this is a reminder to send in a copy of your 2024 town budget after it has been adopted.
