Present: Sue Ruoff, Derek Osborne, C.J. Randall, Bill Klepack, Bert
Bland, Joe Wetmore (town board sub for Bronwyn Losey), Hilary
Lambert, Lauren Chambliss.
The members discussed how the SEQR process is initiated, whether
the Conservation Advisory Committee would have a role (it would) and
also reviewed latest updates from Jerry Goodenough on conversion
process. He had no update other than the Cayuga site is on hold until
the company’s Montana site, which is another coal plant undergoing
switch to datacenter, is further along, so that it can be used as a model.
The committee also began compiling a list of questions related to the
Montana plant’s conversion, and will invite J. Goodenough to discuss
the timeline and other questions related to that plant’s process in
relation to the Cayuga Plant. The committee also discussed the current
grant application to the Appalachian Regional Commission for
broadband upgrade and wondered how any eventual broadband
upgrade will benefit some residents who currently don’t have access to
internet.
The next meeting was scheduled for: Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 pm
Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
