TOWN OF CORTLANDVILLE
AQUIFER PROTECTION PERMIT
PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Section 178-46 of the Code of the Town of
Cortlandville, a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville,
County of Cortland, New York, at the Raymond G. Thorpe Municipal Building located at 3577
Terrace Road, Town of Cortlandville, New York, on May 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m., concerning an
application for an Aquifer Protection Permit.
The application is by Shawn Malchak (DBA Cortland Used Cars) for the purpose of replacing a
current automobile sales and service building with a new 8,700 sq. ft. facility with accessory
parking for 62 vehicles with additional stormwater runoff infrastructure and retention areas. The
property is described as 3600 Route 281, and is located 270 ft. south of the intersection of
McLean Rd. and NYS Route 281, tax map #95.12-01-21.000 and #95.12-01-24.000.
The property is located within the Aquifer Protection District (Area 1: Primary Aquifer Area) of
the Town of Cortlandville, is located within Area In of the Town's Wellhead Protection Zone,
and is in a Zoning District denominated B-3 (Planned Commercial Business).
At the time and place of said hearing all parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity
to be heard.
