DANBY PLANNING . BOARD MEETING

PRESENT : Short , Smith , Weitzel , Arsenault , Dorn , Hatfield , Roberts , Myers
ALSO PRESENT : Clifford Hill , Rittard Hill , reporter for " The Ithaca Journal "

Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved .
•
Mr . Short reported on the following :
1 . Presented various methods and sources available to document existing
• numbers and placement of junk automobiles , etc . , and indicated he will
explore this area further . .
2 . Discussed the economic problems in having a lawyer in attendance at one
meeting for the expressed purpose of providing assistance in the
interpretation and enforcement of the recently adopted zoning ordinance
and whether , in fact , such interpretation and assistance was needed .
• 3 . That his telephone conversation with Mr . Bruce Assachi of the FHA 's
exploring the possibility of establishing a golf course as recommended
. in the " Danby .702 Plan " revealed that the - is now looking with disfavor
j on such ventures but that it is still a possibility . Mr . Smith was
appointed by Mr . Short to contact the FHA for further information and
assistance .
Mr . Smith reported he had contacted the District Highway Supt . about guard rails
needing paint on parts of Danby Road and was given assurance the work would be
done unless notified otherwise .
Mr . Robeh reported the Sand building was removed as planned ' but that some
cleanup work still remained .

Request by George Arsenault for permit to construct a 40 - ft . two - way radio tower
at Miller Road , East , was discussed. Moved by Smith , seconded by Weitzel that
i the planning board recommend the zoning officer issue a building permit to George
Arsenault for construction of a two - way radio tower on the William Farrell 1p
property on Miller Road , East in the Town of Danby . Passed , 4 ayes , 0 noes ,
• one abstention .

Clifford and R eadrd Hill presented plans for a trailer park on the west side of
the South Danby Road adjacent to 24 S . Denby R . Plans were drawn up by architect
Ken Jones . After a lengthy question and answer period it was recommended that
• the entire proposal including specifics relative to Section 708 . 2 - " Trailer Parks " ,
Zoning Ordinance , Town of Danby , be submitted in writing to the Planning Board . •
Also requested to be in the proposal was verification of approval for the sewage
disposal system by the Tompkins County Health Department . It was suggested the •
Planning Board and the Town Board meet in joint session to receive the proposal •
in an effort to expedite a judgment on the application .
