The regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Danby was held at
the Danby Town Hall . ,Monday . August 11 . 1969 at 8x00 P . M .

Supervisor Cortright called the meeting to order . Minutes of the July -

20 Letter of commendation of work done by Edward Slights on the cemetery by
Melchen residence . .
PRIVILEGE OF FLOOR
Councilman Ralph Wilbur suggested sending the State T °affic Commission a
letter . from the Town Board trying to promote a solution to the South Aurora
Street hill problem such as a bypass stating that closing it to trucks over
nine ton or close it entirely is not the answer . If this is closed off and
stays for 1015 years this way . Danby will not get anything this way without
a highway ° A letter to Assemblywoman Constance Cook and Transportation
Department stating that we do have an interest and want the matter pursued
further than to close the road and want some action °

just yet ° A meeting was held this after = noon which Cortright didnst attend
but says they are thinking of a bypass g so when and if they do come out
with something concrete in the near future , then throw our weight. behind it
or if not ==then push . -

Councilman Wilbur feels that by next meeting . we should send letters pushing
for an alternate of some type .
Justice Wright is in full accord with Wilbur ° s statementsoo
we have the right timing but not sure what that is , g° ' ° make sure
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Highway ® Wilbur reported the Michigan Hollow Road is completed and has been
• inspected . Chaffee has papers made out and waiting to . be signed
by Supervisor , Wilbur states there may be a 5% cut on the Erwin - ' --.J
Road projects that were started last year and paid for this year .
Highway crew is working on the Fishersettlement Road and 1s 4 xpected
to ' be completed and then will start on the Hill Road .

Councilman Wilbur made the motion to accept Highway Superintendent Chaffee
recommendation that the 1970 Erwin Road Projects be Balance of Fishersettlement
Road m 1 . 85 miles . Sandbank Road = . 31 miles and Bald Hill Road from County
