HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-12-29 1241 SPECIAL TOWN BOARD ( AUDIT ) MEETING December 290 1967 A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Danby was held at the Danby Fire House , December 29 , 1967 , 8 : 00 P . M . Purpose : Discussion of recreation land in West Danby , consider the bids presented for a used bucket loader and to audit the books of town officials . Present : . Board Members - Councilmen Donald Makie and Donald Barber , Justices Floyd Dorn and Moses Peter and Supervisor Cortright . Others Present : Highway Superintendent Chaffee , Zoning Officer Hatfield , and Mrs . Winifred Cortright . Supervisor Cortright called the meeting to order . Possible recreation land area in West Danby was discussed and it was agreed that , there should be an appraisal made on all of the land west of routes 34 and 96 on the Swartwood property . This area includes the West Danby Water District well and tank site . It was also agreed that the attorneys secure an option for 2 years if the appraisal is favorable . The various bids on acflused bucket loader which were opened at the December 70 1967 Town Board meeting were ' considered and the following action was taken : RESOLUTION # 17 ( 1967 ) AWARD OF BID BUCKET LOADER WHEREAS , the Town Board , Town of Danby , Tompkins County , New York , at a Special Meeting held at the Fire House , December 29 , 1967 , at 8 : 00 P . M . , and . WHEREAS , the Town of Danby having advertised for bids for a , used bucket loader , based on specifications set forth by the Town of Danby Highway superintendent , and WHEREAS , bids were opened December 7 , 1967 at 8 : 00 P . M . at the Danby Fire House at which time three bids were presented as follows : Central New York Equipment Company $ 26 , 487 . 00 Atlantic Tug and Equipment Company $ 24 , 444 . 00 Syracuse Supply Company $26 , 020 . 00 and , WHEREAS , the Danby Town Board having considered all bids and having compared them with the specifications setforth , now therefore be it RESOLVED , that the bid be awarded to Syracuse Supply Company , Binghamton , New York , as the lowest responsible bidder , meeting all specifications , for one - Model 950 Caterpillar Bucket Loader ( Used ) at the bid price of $ 26 , 020 . 000 and be it further RESOLVED , that the Town of Danby Highway Superintendent 1 be and hereby is authorized and directed to complete said transaction on behalf of the Town of Danby , and be it further RESOLVED , that Certified Copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Tompkins County Highway Superintendent , Town of Danby Highway Superintendent and Thaler and Thaler Attorneys . Moved by : Town Justice Moses Peter Seconded by : Councilman Donald Barber Ayes : 5 Noes : 0 Motion carried 125 S PECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING AND AUDIT - continued December 29 , 1967 RESOLUTION # 18 ( 1967 ) AUTHORIZATION FOR SUPERVISOR TO SECURE A SERIAL BOND W HEREAS , the Town Board , Town of Danby , Tompkins County , New York , at a Special Meeting held at the Fire House , December 29 , 1967 at 8 : 00 P . M . , and WHEREAS , it was determined that there was requirement for a Serial Bond in the amount of $ 260020 . 00 , the proceeds of said bond to be used for the purchase of highway equip- ment , now therefore be it • RESOLVED , that the Supervisor , as chief fiscal officer of the Town of Danby be and hereby is authorized to secure a Serial Bond in the aforementioned amount . Moved by : Town Justice Moses Peter S econded by : Town Justice Floyd Dorn Ayes : 5 Noes : 0 Motion carried RESOLUTION 119 ( 1967 ) BLANKET RESOLUTION TRANSFER OF FUNDS - GENERAL FUND yr W HEREAS , the Town Board , Town of Danby , Tompkins County , New York , at a Special Meeting held at the Fire House , December 29 , 1967 at 8 : 00 P . M . , and W HEREAS , it was determined that there was requirement for transfer of funds in various budgetary items within the General Fund , now therefore be it RESOLVED , that a " Blanket Resolution " be adopted author- izing and directing the Supervisor to make the necessary transfers of funds in the various budgetary items of the General Fund . Moved by : Town Justice Moses Peter Seconded by : Town Justice Floyd Dorn Ayes : 5 Noes : 0 Motion carried The books of the following Town Officers were audited and approved : Harry Hatfield - Zoning Officer Moses Peter - JTown Justice Floyd Dorn - Town Justice James H . Cortright - Supervisor The Town Clerk-Tax Collector books were not audited due to the fact that the Clerk=Collector , Dorothy Roberts was confined to her home by illness and therefore unable to present her books for audit .
