The reason for this meeting is action toward Sanitary Land Fill Site .
Mr . Peter outlind the steps that had gone before :
Secured recommendations for Sanitary Land Fill site - about 9 suggestions
No one would sell properties for Sanitary Land Fill
Auto Salvage wanted more than the 3 acres now restricted to Hornbrook Road
Sanitary Land Fill proposed site - several families had severe objections
For 20 acres - Auto Salvage would have to obtain a varience
• County refuge disposal site - not town should be embarking on Sanitary Land Fill
( Liguori feels there should be 3 or 4 sites for whole county )
Joe Short recommends the Planning Board recommend to Town Board to buy the proper-
ty from Auto Salvage for Sanitary Land Fill site , in case County should change its
mind and a sanitary land fill need still exits we would have the property .
Junk yard ( Auto Salvage ) - we have Court decision in our favor - no one knows
how to enforce it . Force junkyard to stay on 3 acres , threatened to pile the cars
Ali high . This is a business , should encourage them , would build a fine building and
plant trees to enhance the place . Wise to buy the property from Auto Salvage for
$ 3500 for 50 acres . Buy land but not for sanitary land fill purpose as it is valuable
for building lots . The preceeding was discussion by members .
Discussion on operation of Seymour ' s Sanitary business .
Mrs . Epp described her experience of Sanitary Land Fill .
Informed by the County Health Department - Liguori said the health department
would close the existing dump in 2 years ( 1963 ) , this condition existed until just
recently when Liguori changed his statement .
IIIMinutes of September 1967 were read by Jim Cortright ( Town Board Minutes ) -
reference Sanitary Land Fill purchasing property - matter of record it would take a
lot of work .
Jim Cortright read letter re : Refuge and Disposal Committee appointments of Mose
Peter and Don Makie .
- Proceed with acquistion of site -
1 . Sanitary Land Fill site - we own , maintain , control
® 2 . County S . L . F . - problems , - County control , large number of people using dump
