JULY 26. ,. 1967
The regular meeting of the Danby Planning Board was held at the Town
Hall , Wednesday , 8 : 10 PA . July 26 , 1967 :
Members present : Joseph Short , Chairman ; Mrs . Mildred Weitzel , Herbert
Muzzy , Wendell Bryce , George Arsenault , and Milton Todd .
O thers present : Mr . & Mrs . Walter Eckert , Mrs . Betty Melchen , Mrs . Susan
Hautala , Alfred Schoneman ; Ralph !Wilbur and Mrs . Margery Treat .
Minutes of the June 21st meeting were read , Mr . Bryce also read the 3
attached paragraphs concerning Trailers taken from the April " New York
S tate Planning News ! ' , and a letter from a Mr . Kantor , attorney for Mrs .
Treat concerning a trailer park and sales adjoining a present trailer park
( Dorothy Kirchgraber ) . Mr . Bryce moved the minutes be approved seconded
by Mrs . Weitzel , carried .
Mr . Bryce went on record as opposing the opinion of the Planning Board
concerning trailers .

O ld Business : Sanitary Land Fill . Mr . Bryce read a letter from Ernest
Cole re the Sanitary Land Fill problem listing the advantages and dis -.
advantages . Discussion . Mrs . Weitzel made the motion that Mrs . Susan
Hautala be appointed to submit to the Planning Board a report on the
dlispecific property and persons involved as an alternate to the Hornbrook
Road sitefor sanitary fill . Dr . Bryce seconded the motion ,, carried ,.
Dr . Bryce reported on Sanitary Land fill . Talked with Manley Thaler ,.
town attorney , said he had no information . Talked with Frank Liguori who
said the Hornbrook site was fine , good drainage , land fill ,, accessible :.
Mr . . Short will check with knowledgable persons why the original dump site
was condemned .
Trailer Parks . Mrs . Margery Treat told of her plans for
a trailer park and trailer sales area . She said she was not asking just
telling of her plans . Discussion . Mr . Wilbur brought up several points
in question such as sewage and trailers on the west side of Danby Road
which is zoned residential . Mr . Short referred to new zoning ordinance
and read from this report re trailer parks . Mr . Short will call regional
planning board , Bob Coon , about this trailer park .
Mr . Todd reporting for Darwin Geuther on decrepit lands -
Removal of old cars still continues .
Mr . Muzzy reporting on bill boards - has a full report on all bill boards , '
will see Mr . Hatfield and submit report .
Mr . Short reporting on Town map - map about ready but needs an insert
according to Don Maki who is working with Jim Lee on it . `
