HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 2021 January 19 bicentennial committeeEnfield Bicentennial Committee March 16, 1821 – March 16, 2021 January 19, 2021 Zoom Meeting Present: Eric Carter, Ellie Hobbie,Ann Rider, Debbie Teeter, Sue Thompson Minutes from the December 2020 meeting were e-mailed to members of the Committee. Ann Rider talked to John Wertis, Historian Town of Ulysses, regarding any Town Minutes Ulysses might have from 1821. Ann Rider was looking for references to dividing the Town of Ulysses into the Town of Ithaca, Enfield and Ulysses. The minutes may be found on the Town of Ulysses web site. The Meeting Minutes are from 1795 to present. Debbie Teeter reported that Tracy Soule has been sharing her family pictures “Scoffield” on her face book page. Ann Rider also talked to John Wertis regarding the Costume Bureau in Trumansburg. She will be in contact with the group. John Wertis also suggested using the biographies that were done for the 1821 residents be added to the history book. Ann Rider suggested what the agenda could be for the March 16 virtual meeting for Enfield’s Bicentennial. It was suggested that all of this could be recorded and put together for people to watch:Town Supervisor reading a proclamation on the founding of the town (Ann Rider will write)Reading of the NYS meeting declaring Enfield a town.Outline of the map from Ulysses to Enfield, Ithaca, UlyssesAdd the logo pictures.Perhaps Eric Carter and his student group could put this program together. Sue Thompson reported listings need to be put all together for the history book. Ann Rider and Alice Linton visited Quilters Corners and picked out the fabric for the quilt. Ann Rider will contact someone with a long arm machine to quilt the quilt. They are hoping to use the new Community Building to work on the quilt. Ann Rider will send out an e-mail regarding details of quilt meeting. Ellie Hobbie is still waiting on more on more information about the children that submitted the logo designs. The Committee will decide later how to use the logos. Sue Thompson suggested doing the Time Capsule later in the year when more people would be involved. Next meeting: February 16, 2021via Zoom.
