HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 2020 Sept 15 bicentennial committeeEnfield Bicentennial Committee March 16, 1821 – March 16, 2021 September 15, 2020 Zoom Meeting Present: Eric Carter,Judy Fernandes, Ellie Hobbie,Alice Linton, Ann Rider, Barb Sadovnic, Debbie Teeter, Sue Thompson Minutes from the August meeting were e-mailed to members of committee. Barb Sadovnic stated she will share with the rest of the committee information received from Bob Wixom regarding research done on residents from 1821. Ann Rider will put together a list of Community Council members and officialsfor the bicentennial event. It was suggested that Rhoda Linton should be part of the ceremony regarding the incorporation of the Community Council. Sue Thompson sent out lists of Supervisor, Town Clerk, Justice of Peace, Councilpersons, Constables, Highway Superintendents for members to check over or errors. These will be used for update of Enfield history book. Ellie Hobbie and Barb Sadovnic will look over the list for the invitations for the Bicentennial Ceremony. Ann Rider and Debbie Teeter will look for list of officials for invitations. There was discussion of how to handle the update of the history book. It was suggested that Word Pro could print copies. Decision of how many copies and for who is needed. Ellie Hobbie reported that there has been no response for logo contest. Ann Rider reported the Enfield Community Council is purchasing the Living Water Church Building in Enfield Center. She suggested that the March 20thBicentennial ceremony could be held there. Discussion of possible tours of the Stone House and Old Mill at Treman State Park might be done. There was also discussion of a “living history” event possibly at the Harvest Festival. Judy Fernandes volunteered to look in to possible groups to be involved. Alice Linton talked about the Friends of Robert H. Treman State Park and encouraged others to join the group. Eric Carter suggested that interviews with older residents in the town could be conducted at the March 20th Ceremony or the Harvest Festival. Debbie Teeter stated that the new ECC building could be a place for the quilt group to meet and make the Bicentennial Quilt. Next meeting: October 20, 2020 via Zoom. Submitted by Sue Thompson
