Minutes of the Meeting a MAY 15 , 1967
PRESENT : Chain , Joseph Short ; George Arsenault , Darwin Guether ,
Wendell Bryce and Regional Planner James Lee .
A letter to the Town Board , dated March 8 , 1967 -: nd containing a summary
of the last Planning Board meeting was red and discussed . The chairman
noted that nothing had been done concerning the maps discussed in the lettt
He stated that Supervisor Cortright had just recently told him to proceed .
Mr . Short said that he felt the Planning Board " should be a working
board . " In line with this he made the following assignments :
1 . Wendell Bryce e Secretary , and also follow"up on the progress of
the sanit .i r°y land fill project .
2 . Darwin Cuether : (a) Acquisition of decrepit and available
structures in center of DANBY .
(b) Acquisition of recreational or park land , particularly in

(c) Removal of old cars .
3 . George Arsenault : followsup on letter of Earl P . Walker , Jr . to
determine feasibility and desirability of his intended development
on the Coddington Road .
4 . Mk . R . ?tizzy : signs and billboards .
5 . 1k . Joseph Short : development flid procurement of new map ,
6 . Mrs . - Weitzel : telephone committee

A general discussion including remarks and advice from Mr . Lee followed .
The topics included : ( 1 ) Letter from Gregory asprazak to George
McKnight asking the latter to cceoperate fully with Denby in its plans
ring program . (2 ) The proposed removal of junk cars through the cod
operation of the Town Board and Community Council . (3 ) A letter from
Rev . George Clarkson outlining the needs of the fire department . George
Arsenault made the point that these were only center DANBY needs and that
Coddington Road would probably need a new truck . (4) Community Center
and other building plans and the groups involved . ( 5) Relationship of
Planning Board and Ton Board . ( 6) County Planning and Regional Planning ,
THE PLANNING BOARD then crystallized some of the above by making the
following three resolutions the first of which was passed with one
abstention and the other two unanimously .
1 . THE PLANNING BOARD is twposed to the DANDY Town Board donating
land to any private group for any purpose .
2 . That the following be one of the alternatives presented to the
community at the public meeting concerning building programs : THE TOWN
HALL be renovated : nd adjacent buildings be purchased to be developed as
a community center and office are : . That the fire buildings and the
town highw : y buildings be adjacent to the sanitary land fill area .
3 . THE PLANNING BOARD wholeheartedly supports the Town Board e s program
of using the school for community functions since this is the most efficiei
use of tax dollars .
