The regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Danby
was held at the Town Hall , 8 : 00 P . M . , Thursday , May 4 , 1967 .
Board Members Present : Supervisor James H . Cortright , Justice
Floyd Dorn , Councilmen Donald Barber
and Donald Makie
Absent : Justice Moses Peter
Also Present : Zoning Officer Hatfield , Mr . and Mrs . Doyle Webber
Ted Merritt , Neil Nelson , Gould Colman , Alfred
Schoneman , John Myers and Francis Wright .
Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved as corrected .
COMMUNICATIONS
1 ; From Conservation Department re : Law governing construction
work in New York State streams , ponds and lakes .
2 . List of tools for rent from United Rent -ails . .
3 . Voting Machine Replacement and Service .
PRIVILEGE OF FLOOR -
None from the Board .
Neil Nelson reported the steering committee for the Citizens '
Action Group has a 250 foot square piece of land in prospect .
B efore any plan of layout of ground , it will be coordinated for
all concerned .
Gould Colman raised the question on placement of cars close
to the road by Autosalvage . Supervisor Cortright replied that
negotiations are proceeding with Bartholf and Petricola .
Alfred Schoneman questioned persons walking on dike . 8001X

topsoil and seeding .
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Highway - none
Zoning - none
Fire - Barber reported that the Firemen are training men to fight
fires .
Cemeteries - Dorn reported that Hemmo Huttunen will finish Peter
Cemetery . Mr . Dorn will contact Mr . Dobson regarding
work on another cemetery .
Insurance - none
Youth - Barber reported summer programming is underway . In need
of ligeguards .
OLD BUSINESS
H ighway Superintendent absent for any report .
Zoning Officer Hatfield reported he has sent 53 notices regarding
III junk cars - - 35 replied , some have had cars removed others will
have to be ? served notice .
P lanning Board - Chairman absent .
Appeals Board - Chairman absent .
Chairman of Assessors - absent .
J ennings Pond - Supervisor Cortright will - contact the contractor
to finish the clike .
(i .iick Troy Road Junkyard - negotiations still proceeding .

Pi West Danby Water District - area around tank has been surveyed .
Attorney will draw up legal boundaries ,
then hold a public hearing .

Access Road to Water Tank - Supervisor reported easements will
have to be obtained from property
owners .
Land Recreation Area - Supervisor reported that Mr . Locke will
be contacted upon return from his trip .
File for Supervisor - Board unanimously agreed that the Supervisor
purchase a file for his office .
RESOLUTION #4 TRANSFER OF FUNDS
HIGHWAY
WHEREAS the total balance in Item I - A of the Highway Fund
( Town Highway Improvement Program Fund ) is $ 18 , 911 . 02 , Ea
and
WHEREAS the amount appropriated for the 1967 Erwin Project . is
$8 , 081 . 08 and comprises of the aforementioned balance , and
WHEREAS the amount appropriated for Erwin Project # 29009 in
1966 and not completed in 1966 therefore being carried over
into 1967 and this amount is $4 , 612 . 14 and also comprises
a portion of the aforementioned total balance and
WHEREAS the amount of $6 , 217 . 80 comprises the balance of the
aforementioned total balance and is not appropriated of
a specific project but is the remainder of State Aid
received on project # 29008 completed in 1966 , now therefore
be it
RESOLVED that the sum of $6 , 217 . 80 be transferred to the following
funds in the following amounts :
ITEM III $4 , 000 . 00
ITEM IV $2 , 217 . 80
AND , BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Supervisor be authorized
to make said transfer on his books .

through # 51 as listed on warrant # 5 totalling
$ 748 . 94 . Seconded by Makie . 4 ayes , 0 noes ,
