RE: Extension of Time
Town law provides that tax rolls and tax funds collected by Town Collectors
be returned to the County Treasurer no later than April 1 of each year. The same law
provides that the County Treasurer may extend the time for a collector to hold the
roll and collect taxes to May 31, 2023 upon the receipt from the Town Supervisor.
I am enclosing a form for you to use in making this request. Before making
your request, you should have the approval of your Town Board.
1f you plan to ask for an extension of time to collect taxes to May 31It,
2023 the County Treasurer's Office must receive your application no later than
April 1, 2023.
