June 2, 2014
The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a regular monthly meeting at the
Harford Town Hall on June 2, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Present at the meeting were Michelle
Morse ; Supervisor, Dave Stoner, Daryl Cross and Charles Rowland Councilmen,
Jennifer Fox; Town Clerk, Nancy and Larry Hawks, Gary Tennant, Gerald and Shirley
Smith, and many other town residents.

The minutes of the May 5, 2014 regular meeting were read for information and
corrections.
RES #50: BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes as read.
Daryl Cross made a motion to adopt Resolution #50. Dave Stoner seconded the motion.

The minutes of the May 19, 2014 special meeting were read for information.
RES #51: BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes as read.
Daryl Cross made a motion to adopt Resolution #51. Dave Stoner seconded the motion.

Bills listed on General Abstract #6, vouchers #80-88, Highway Abstract #6, vouchers
#80-90, and Harford Mills Water District #1 Abstract #6, vouchers #9-10 were read by
the clerk and submitted to the Board for review.
RES #52: BE IT RESOLVED that the bills be approved as submitted and for the
Supervisor to make the necessary payments.

motion.

Michelle Morse; Town Supervisor, opened the meeting for visitor’s comments.
Mr. Russell asked if the Williams property on Owego Hill Rd will be cleaned up.
Michelle Morse explained that several residents have already been served with order of
compliance letters and many more will be served.
Jack Holcomb talked to the Board about the Harford Mills cemeteries lack of care. Dave
Stoner stated that Mr.Canfield had mower issues but is now back on track. Mr. Holcomb
asked if the town would buy top soil to help fix the head stones and if they would buy
mulch so people could use it in the cemetery. The Board agreed that they would look into
purchasing soil and mulch. A Harford Mills resident also talked about getting updated
playground equipment and fixing up the park. Michelle Morse agreed to work on this.
There are also concerns about the speed of the traffic going through Harford Mills. The
Town Clerk will look into the speed sign issue and send another letter.
Gary Tennant mentioned that the new cemetery fence needs fixing. The Town Clerk has
made calls about this and is waiting for a response.
Shane Merriman; Highway Superintendent, gave his monthly report a copy is on file at
the Town clerks office.
Michelle Morse reported on the following correspondence
A check from the clerk in the amount of $303.00 for May fees.
1. $214.67 – interest collected from the 2013 T & C May tax payments
Michelle Morse submitted and read the Supervisor’s monthly report.
RES #53: BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor’s monthly report be approved as
presented and read.

RES #54: BE IT RESOLVED to adjourn the meeting at 8:58 p.m.
Dave Stoner made a motion to adopt Resolution #54. Charles Rowland seconded the
motion.
