HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-07-2014 STATE OF NEW YORK COUNTY OF CORTLAND TOWN OF HARFORD July 7, 2014 The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a regular monthly meeting at the Harford Town Hall on July 7, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Present at the meeting were Michelle Morse; Supervisor, Dave Stoner, Daryl Cross, and Todd Loope; Councilmen, Jennifer Fox; Town Clerk, Sandy Price; County Legislator, Shane Merriman; Highway Superintendent, Joel Cook; Water Superintendent; and many town residents. . The minutes of the June 2, 2013 regular meeting were read for information and corrections. RES #55: BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes as read. Daryl Cross made a motion to adopt Resolution #55. Dave Stoner seconded the motion. Daryl Cross –Aye Michelle Morse -Aye Todd Loope -Abstained Dave Stoner –Aye Bills listed on General Abstract #7, vouchers #89-97, Highway Abstract #7, vouchers #91-102, and Harford Mills Water District #1 Abstract #7, vouchers #11 were read by the clerk and submitted to the Board for review. RES #56: BE IT RESOLVED that the bills be approved as submitted and for the Supervisor to make the necessary payments. Dave Stoner made a motion to adopt Resolution #56. Todd Loope seconded the motion. Daryl Cross -Aye Michelle Morse -Aye Todd Loope -Aye Dave Stoner –Aye Sandy Price County Legislator gave her monthly report. A copy of her report is on file at the Town Clerks office. Michelle Morse Town Supervisor opened the meeting for visitor’s comments. George Chevalier talked about James Rumer from Ohio wanting to donate money for clean up of the cemetery at Lake Rd. Gerald Smith asked the Board to call Terry Deuel about the creek. He would also like the Board to consider updating the Zoning Ordinance book. Michelle Morse stated that she would contact the Cortland County Planning Department to help get it updated. Mike price asked the Board for an update on the Water District. Michelle Morse stated that the work is moving forward. Mr. Price stated that it has been a year. He would like a member of the Water District to be allowed to join in on all decisions that are being made. He believes that it should be someone who will look out for the members of the Water District. Mr. Price feels that no one in the Water District should have to pay for water or maintenance ever. Daryl Cross said that would be hard to do but the Board is trying and is always looking out for the members of the Water District. Dave Stoner stated that the Board has asked for any interested party to get involved but no one has. Chris Tweedie has bought the property at 90 Rte 200 and would like a variance to put his mobile home in place and get the water turned on. The Board explained that there is a process to follow and no water will be turned on until all necessary steps have been taken. The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on July 21st at 7:00pm to get things in motion. RES #57: BE IT RESOLVED that the Harford Town Board authorize the pre approval of the mobile home being moved in pending the Zoning Boards approval and the OK from the Code Enforcement Officer. Daryl Cross made a motion to adopt Resolution #57. Dave Stoner seconded the motion. Daryl Cross -Aye Michelle Morse -Aye Todd Loope -Aye Dave Stoner –Aye Shane Merriman; Highway Superintendent gave his report. A copy of the report is on file at the Town Clerks Office. Michelle Morse reported on the following correspondence:  Checks from the clerk: 1. $2,751.20 – final interest from 2014 T & C taxes 2. $735.00 – June fees Town Supervisors monthly report was read RES #58: BE IT RESOLVED to accept the Supervisors report as read. Daryl Cross made a motion to adopt Resolution #58. Todd Loope seconded the motion. Daryl Cross -Aye Michelle Morse -Aye Todd Loope -Aye Dave Stoner –Aye RES #59: BE IT RESOLVED to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 p.m. Dave Stoner made a motion to adopt Resolution #59.
